window help!

Colby mentioned window locks or lack there of.

We have always carried several locks which will keep the window from moving back on its track more than the amount opened. For example when you want to leave the windows open for ventilation, but don't want any one breaking into the boat (easily).

Here are some which are about $1.60 each.

These screw onto the window frame.

A dowel or rod in the track will work well too.

For shipping costs, you can suggest USPS, they are usually the cheapest, but also the longest, like 4-5 days.

On the stuck sliding windows, even with particular attention to making sure to flush the areas with fresh water around the bottom and front of the sliding windows after every trip, they occasionally get stuck - usually by sliding it closed with excessive force. We've found, as suggested by others awhile back, try to first close it further (forcefully), most of the time it will release and allow it to slide again.

I read the tip above from thataway a couple of years ago. Now I use the silicone spray he suggests in the "felt" lined tracks once the tracks are thoroughly cleaned and dry. Never had a problem since (altho I usually don't quite close them 100% to avoid the "click lock").

That is timely advice, Bob--thanks, I have ordered a tube. Any suggestion for glue to hold the latch on the sliding side window? Epoxy? Super glue?

I use clear silicone RTV calking to attach the window latches.
I bought 4 or 5 of them 10 or so years ago diamond seaglaze suggested the RTV   :beer :beer :thup
PS Shit can the tape that comes with the latches.
