Willow Grove Boat Launch

Thinking about going down to Longviews' Willow Grove Boat Launch tomorrow. Has anyone launched here and what is the cruising like close bye? I wonder what it will be like for crowds on Sunday? Any help will be appreciated, Big Mac.

I haven't launched there myself because of reports of theft and vandalism of tow-vehicles. I talked to the Wahkiakum County Sheriff and opted for Cathlamet instead. Great ramp! Very secure. 10 days w/o a problem.

I have launched there 4 0r 5 times for fishing and never had any problems. Very nice launch and good cruiseing waters as long as you know the water and watch out for wing dams and shallows. A good chart of the waters is nice to have but if going slow like I do just watch the water around you and be aware of where you are going. Lyle-t

I've launched there dozens of times. Very modern with 4 lanes to launch and lot's of parking. Nice little park and beach for the kiddies too.

Something smells fishy here
I just read on ifish.net that someone hammered the sturgeon out of Willow Grove. I hope you have the same luck. 8)

Thanks for the posts on Willow Grove Boat Launch. We went down Sunday morning and gave it a try. It was not crowded at all with maybe 75 boat trailers and tow rigs in the huge lot. I had loaded this region into the GPS so it was pretty cut and dried. I had the plearsure of running into Knot Yacht, Dale and Rosemary from Longview. He suggested a trip to Rainier so we tried that out. They have a real nice city dock, we tied up and had lunch. It was our first experience in a river, the current does push you around a bit. Sure is faster going with the current and the freighters do make an impressive wake when they go bye. I posted a picture of the Rainier dock in the Mary Ellen photo album. Happy boating, Big Mac.
