Wildlife Pics

I'd forgotten about this thread... Here's a recent image from a day trip that Diana and I took out the Columbia River Gorge... It's the bighorn rutting season. A bit of head knocking, and a lot of competition for the ewes.

This series of shots was sent to me by my nephew who received them in an e-mail. Not sure where taken or when but they were of one eagle, then two eagles trying to get a little diving duck who, just in time, every time, dove at the right moment. Eventually, the eagles collided head on, on reciprocal courses and one fell into the water and probably nearly drowned. He did recover though and lived to hunt another day (Probably more carefully!).

The little duck "ducks"! This went on for several passes until

A second eagle joins in the hunt! :disgust They try to get him for awhile and then decide to come in from different directions... Wrong thing to do :cry

They collide head on at about 80+ mph. OUCH!

One eagle down, one flies away! :?

Looked a little "worse for wear" But.....

Happily, Recovered! The duck remains at large...

BTW, I second the comment on "Brownie Hawkeye my Aunt Frannie". As long as you're not using those off-white colored lenses, all is well in the world. (Wandering Sagebrush)

Wait a minute! I resemble that remark  Really, both you guys do amazing work :thup
