Why WM

Washington uses WN, as that was the abbreviation used for Washington at the time the state went to boat registrations, and has not updated to the newer Postal Service abbreviation for the state of, WA. (1963)

Robbi-

Just so others don't have to waste time figuring it out (you probably already did), the last mis-match, MP vs. CM represents what area ???

Mounted Police vs. Canadian Mounties?

No, it's

Northern Mariana Islands vs. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands

Go Figure!

Too bad you aren't there instead of rainy Washington! (Bright and clear in Northern California).

Joe. :thup

Joe, Is the wind blowing down in Redding today, too?

MP/CM= Northern Mariana Islands, Yeh, go figure. I wonder if there is a C-Dory with a CM #?

Yes, and again today, Friday morning!

MP/CM= Northern Mariana Islands, Yeh, go figure. I wonder if there is a C-Dory with a CM #?

Doubt it, but I also doubt we'll ever know!

Ken, Robbi, and Joe - windy in your area? Seems like windy conditions on the west coast travel through Montana. Tractor trailers on I 90 near Livingston will blow over. Here in White Suffering Springs we get gusts of 80-90 mph, The other day a gust hit the Far West and knocked it sideways, collapsing the wheel, but the spare tire on the frame broke the fall. No real damage.

The snow pack in Yellowstone is below average, so I believe the ice will go out early. Xanterra, the concessionaire for Bridge Bay Marina will take reservations now (307-344-7901 fax 307-344-7456) Ask for Kristie
Wiederholt.

Boats 16'1" and over run $23 per night. But..... a 22' and 25' C-Dory on a monthly basis will cost $303 ($10 per night) and for the full season of over 90 days the cost is $831((9 per night). Each slip has its own water and electricity, too, and the docks are first class as anyone who has used the marina can testify to. Security is provided 24 hours, and parking for your trailers and vehicles is cost free.

I'm already booked for the season and look forward to any of you folks who may wander our way. Mail me if you want some more information.

Bridge Bay marina is one of the real bargains in Yellowstone. Most folks use their boats as their motel and then either boat on the lake or use their vehicles on day trips throughout the park, travel to the Tetons and Jackson Hole, etc. Lake Yellowstone Hotel charges over $200 daily for a couple, and once in the park, sleeping accommodations are hard to find. So Yellowstone for boaters can be a real, low cost vacation.

And the fishing is very good. You can keep all the lake trout you can catch. A fellow next to me came in one day with over a 100 lbs of fish.
They are given to other boaters or tourists, so nothing is wasted. And they are excellent eating -none of the oily claims for lake trout from other areas.
