Why I don't like Fedex

I'm thinking I might have rented a kayak in Hawaii instead of shipping one there but that's just me. I'm thinking about paddle shaft. If you wanted maybe a piece of tubular aluminum or a wooden dowel screwed or glued (epoxy) in place after inserting it into either side of the break. Write the president of Fed Ex maybe your local government department of consumer affairs. Did you insure the shipment?

bummer

We ship a lot of items mostly clinical specimens as Class 6.2 Dangerous Goods using FEDEX to other labs and works well for us (just expressing the flip side). I really like using their shipping software called Ship Manager and just m2cw their estimated shipping calculator showing various shipping options has saved my employer thousands of dollars and their customer service is exemplary.

The only off course example I can share is my HS buddy got a job at a main USPS shipping hub unloading semis. He could toss bags of mail out of the semi back farther than his co workers and complete the process quickly. He was from a farm and a great football, basketball and base ball player and Type A personality. I am sure that some items he handled were damaged. LOL It didnt last long and was promoted to management bc of his people's skills. Just a great guy to be around and a hard worker

I shipped some stuff UPS from MIA to my home. I took it to the UPS shipping center at MIA airport (so it didn't change shippers anywhere). The stuff was all boxed up in one box nicely when I shipped it. What arrived was separate packages using some UPS packing and half the stuff was gone. It was pretty obvious that someone in UPS shipping had pilfered my shipment.

UPS said to file a claim and they would reimburse me for the missing stuff if I provided receipts. Since I didn't have any receipts I was out of luck. I could've bought some replacement stuff and then submitted the receipts, but that would've been more trouble than it was worth.

Never had a problem...but I suspect that is the luck of the draw. Generally I track the package from the time it is sent/ordered.

I am aware of lost packages, mail by US post office. When I was either ordering parts or sending parts over seas, I used DHL--they seemed to be the best. Recently I had a DHL shipment from UK--went fine. But DHL does seem to do domestic any more--and the offices are few.

FYI, IF you have a Post Office box at a US mail post office, you have another option. You can use the street address for the post office, as a shipping address with your PO Bx number at the end of the street address. Then UPS or FED Ex will deliver to that Post Office, and they will put a note into your PO Box to pick up a package, or put it into a package/key box and you pick up you package there at the PO, keeping it off your front porch.

You must sign up for this service with the local Post Office, but certainly a plus service from them.
