Which Magazines?

Katie & I are curious about which boating magazines people are subscribing to. We currently get Passagemaker, Power Cruising and are looking at Pacific Yachting, a Northwest boating one that is just starting up. There are some nice articles for cruising in the ones we've listed but would gladly read more if it was suitable.

So...any other good cruising mags that you know of?

Soundings is good for east coast cruisers, as is New England Off shore.

Me, I go to Barnes and Noble, buy a Latte, stake my claim on a table, and pull every boating publication from the racks, and read most of them . Some I just look at and put down. Some I end up buying. The rest I put back. I then start on the boating books. While I do this, InnLady goes shopping and leaves me alone.

Works for me. Why not try it.

I like NorWesting and not just because I'm cheap and it's free but because it contains a lot of good N.W. info. It can be found at your local marine supply or sporting goods store. In NoWesting you may not see glitzy pics of scantlly clad trophy wifes but you may see a pic of Brock or Pat or any other number of C-Brats.......come to think of it, maybe I should subscribe to some other magazines :)

Hi,

If you plan on trailering be sure to look at Trailer Boating. The book is just full of info on everything we need to know about the trailer boating lifestyle. Their web site also has a lot of info on tow vechicles. Good reading!

Lattitude 38, even though it is a sailing rag--it is a great magazine--West Coast and Mexico Oriented.
I get a number of comp magazines, but rarely spend my $$ on them, unless there is some article (like on C Dories) I might want to save.

There is so much good material on the internet.

We like Pacific Yachting, it's a Canadian magazine with at least one serious practical article on some safety topic and a story on good places to boat along the west coast of Canada in each edition. It is a great resource for those of us near Canada...all those Canadian islands and the inside passage. I particularly like that it appears to be less of a bikini's and fast boats magazine than a magazine devoted to information about boating in this region.

Since a new thread about boating magazines has just started, I thought I'd resurrect this thread from the past, that I located in the "search" engine.
(Hope it is a help).
