Where have all the 19’s gone?
No, I’m not writing a new song with a classic tune, but it could be a new hit.
Karen and I have owned our 19 Angler (Zenith) since December 2019. We enjoy reading posts on this forum, and we have learned a great deal about the care and feeding of our Dory. We have also met (virtually) alot of very nice Dory owners.
The Brat Map shows 151 19’s. As this is only 5% of the total C-Dory’s on the map, it is understandable that the number of posts from 19 owners could be substantially fewer than those of other boats.
The Map shows 19’s all over the country, but relatively few of the owners have posted any text or album photos. As with any social media platform, there are those who post often, and those who rarely post.
I know that 19’s are no longer in production, and that many former 19 owners have moved up to 22’s or larger. I often see posts where someone is interested in buying a 19, and the replies tend to be “get a 22” for various reasons.
There are many great photos and videos of 22’s and larger making extended cruises, trailering to exciting destinations, and making upgrades for comfort and safety.
I have seen similar posts from a few 19 owners, but those posts are rare and often from long ago.
Where have all the 19’s gone? Are they still being used and loved?
