What would a new C-Dory 16’ with a Honda 40, four stroke on a single axle Galvanized trailer sell for “new” in the PNW?

Why I’m saying PNW, is that I’m not sure that there are any dealers anywhere else, am I correct?

OK then, what would a new C-Dory 16’ with a Honda 40, four stroke on a single axle Galvanized trailer sell for “new” in the PNW and or at Wefings?

Ron Fisher

Ron, why don't you call Marc at Wefing's and ask him? We could guess, but that's all it would be, a guess...

On your for sale ad for your 2006 16 with the engine you are looking for, you pose the question... "Why buy a new one?"....

Guess I'll have to ask the obvious question.. Why are you looking for a new one?... Or are you just looking for how much someone will save by buying yours instead of a new one? :smiled

Charlie,

You figured me out!

I have made the assumption (without specifically knowing) that a new 16’ CD would be considerably more cost (perhaps nearly double) than the super clean 16” that I have listed.

Knowing how assumptions can go, I’m just checking.

The last boat show we did with C-Dory's in 2010 we had the 16 fotter priced at $24,995 for boat, motor and 40 horse Suzuki with no other options. I imagine prices have crept up a bit.

Ron, last time I checked a base [ delivered to any but west coast dealers] boat would be somewhere between a minimum of 28ish and easily well over 30+k???? with a few options, canvas, some electronics, a 50 HP [pick a brand, add 1 k for Honda] . That comes with a shiney new trailer though.......
Oh , thats before tax.

Geez....who woulda ever thunk, over $30K for a 16'...............
That's only about $2k/foot. Much cheaper than the $3-5k/foot for a 25 or a Tomcat

True, but the bigger boats are wider, deeper, heavier, have more volume/liiving space, performance capability, accessory systems, comfort features, etc., etc.

Unfortunately, at least for the manufacturer and dealers, however, the combination of the prices of new boats and the relative abundance and good prices (compared to a few years ago) of used boats, puts the new ones at a competitive disadvantage in the marketplace.

Buy a new 16 or a very nice, well equipped, used 22 for the same price?

Your choice! :smiled

Joe. :teeth :thup

One wonders, or does anyone know, if the factory is still making the same percentage/proportions of 16’ CD’s to other sizes as in the past?

There seems to be fewer and fewer “newer” (new or used) 16’ CD’s showing up for sale.

Ron - I think they're making fewer of everything in the past few years. Also, those with nice, inexpensive to operate 16' C-dory boats are more likely to hold onto them than the people with larger boats. At least what I've seen in the use boat marketplace is a lot of people dumping larger expensive boats for smaller ones.

Just a quick observation, by going to http://www.adhuntr.com/ which is an “all craigslist” type access and putting in any year C-Dory after 2007, there are no listings for 16’ CD’s, some but few for other models.

I just bought a 16 cruiser from a dealer up here in Canada about a month ago. It has a 50hp Yamaha and a trailer. Everything's brand new and the dealer agreed to throw in some electronics and store it over the winter for me. Cost was right around26K Canadian.

I thought its was a good price.

These little boats are expensive without a doubt. Really all c-dory's are pricy. Unique but pricy.

Hope that answers your question
