What color are my hatches?

I need to replace one of the battery compartment hatches on Glenda Jean but I don't know if I need the "white" or "off white" color.

The hatch in question:

I'm pretty certain that the hatch is a Bomar G7812 which comes in three colors, white, black, and off white. I'm certain it isn't the "black" but I don't know which version of white C-Dory is using.

Any help appreciated!

The ones I put in were white--but the originals were off white. Not a lot of difference after they have been on the boat for awhile. But I would go with the off white.

Mike,

I believe that your hatch is a Bomar G7812 in an off white color. Call Ryan or NMI to make sure of the color.

If you decide to replace your hatch with the same Bomar, you might try installing it so that it swings inward toward the splash well (less strain on the hinges IMHO).

That's how the ones on my 22 were installed. However, I was using one of them as a fish box and having it swing inward made it harder to get the fish into it. Early on, I dropped a fish overboard trying to get it around the open lid and into the box. I rotated the hatch 180 degrees the next day.

I also changed the lazarette hatches from the original "hinge inboard" to "hinge outboard" (when I put in new ones). To relieve strain on the lids when they are open, I made lid keepers out of webbing. C-Brat Hardee made similar ones out of line.
