What are your 2013 plans?

Nick,
Where do you put in at ?
I just bought a 22' cruiser and live in Toledo.

Potter Water,

I'm a bit confused by your Lake Erie plans. Are you going to be on the lake itself? The areas you mention are on the canal. I only ask because if you are on Lake Erie perhaps we can get together and I could show you the attractions in the Western Basin.

Regards,

Nick

Well...2013 is getting off on the right foot. Maybe I'll even break 100 hours on the ol' gal this year.

Let's see who can guess how long Da Nag has been sitting on the trailer in the garage. Hint: That WA sticker is orange.

Last two days have been spent dealing with long-term storage issues - fuel filters, locked up hydraulic steering, batteries, tires...but I'm seeing the light. 2-3 more days and the red boat will be ready for fun.

The Jacari Maru and crew will be hanging out in the Broughton Islands area this summer. We will most likely be at Shawl Bay Marina. Stop by if you are in the area.

I was just wondering if there is any c-brats wanting to do the erie canal this summer ? sept 4-12 or so we have a wedding to go to on sep1st so any time after that .Jim

April, stay close to home, Denman and Hornby islands.

May, possibly Friday Harbor, undecided yet.

Early June, Texada, Lasquiti, Savery islands.

Late June, Princess Louisa Inlet.

July, bumming around Desolation and the Gulf Islands. Hoping to meet up with Barry & Patti on C-Cakes.

August, San Juans. Late August, Squirrel Cove in Desolation.

Sept, C-Brat gathering in Sidney.

Martin.

Begin spring prep as soon as our recent 23" of new snow melts, splash mid-April, and hopefully use the boat more this year than last year. I logged way too many hours on other ships last year...I plan to prioritize one day a week to play with mine.

September 6-8, I plan on being at the C-dory gathering on the Mississippi at Dubuque. Otherwise just a lot of local boating around Madison, and hopefully a few trips Salmon Fishing out of Port Washington and/or Sturgeon Bay. Possibly a week in July at Lake Cumberland (or Door County). I'm recently retired from airline flying, but drive school bus now, so most the summer I will probably have free. Wife is still working and with one of her kids unable to stay home without supervision, so I might be interested in cruising solo with my boat along with anyone else planning on any adventures in the Apostles, Lake Michigan, etc.

Well, Let's see ...... Work .... work and more work. Boat when I can. Friday Harbor looks good. (Might have to play hooky ....shushsssssss). Hope to get some time to do a freshwater, river cruise, Columbia or Snake, looking for warm weather and fresh water for a change. And stay in touch here on the site.

I am planning on putting my boat on the ferry in Skagway and shipping it down to Pelican, AK for the season and maybe permanently. I will be taking a scouting trip down there in the next week, to check out availability of moorage, storage, etc. I have fished that area before and it is great.

We are currently in AZ finalizing details, and plan to depart for Prince Rupert (BC) Tuesday morning (4/30). This will be SEAK trip #5, and we will take the month of May wandering-North for a June 1st launch.

Our Southeast Alaska loop will include Ketchikan, Myers Chuck, Anan, Wrangell, Juneau, Elfin Cove, Hoonah, Sitka, Baranoff Warm Springs, Red Bluff Bay, Craig and back to PR. ...naturally there will be unplanned stops along the way; that's the beauty of such a trip.

...and naturally we'll hope to see several C-Brats enroute!

Best,
Casey&Mary

We had to cancel plans for our extended trip East but all is not lost, after Friday Harbor we will do short trips in the Puget Sound/Gulf Islands area through May, June and July. In early August we will head north from Bellingham and spend a few weeks in the Broughtons coming back to meet the Brats at the Sidney CBGT. We try to get out in the fall and winter as well, not sure where yet.

For my 'Right Coast' efforts -

Just finished with all 8 carbs rebuilt, new water pumps & full tuneup service. This week a full detailing is scheduled, WX permitting. The water system has been unwinterized & water heater checks OK. The WALLAS is still a jewel. The air conditioner is fine. In short... READY to GO! :D

I hope to tour more of the Lower Chesapeake Bay, James River, York River and Elizabeth River.

Probably stay in Virginia waters to buy my gas. As a resident I get my marine fuel tax back, if I file the paperwork (and it seems cheaper).

We are going to be at Friday Harbour gathering and a few days extra in the area. Then June is Gulf Islands/ San Juans. July is Sunshine coast including Desolation Sound and Gorge Harbour. August is open, if sunny and warm, Desolation for more. All local this year. Xmas in the city then Kona for Jan-March 2014. Then refit and head east across Canada to Rideau and Trent Severn. Then south. Then.........will work for gas money. George and Carolyn :smiled
