What are the odds!

Last summer at Lake Powell, I took the cap off that threads on to the anchor-all around white light mount to install the light tower, and that was the Last I saw of it. I looked all over for it, ended up putting tape over the hole to keep water out. I stopped at West Marine in Gig Harbor to try and find a new one. The guy was very helpful, and next thing I knew, I was on the phone with a lady from Perco, the manufacturer. She said she would be happy to send me a new one for free. Nice, when I told her my street #, she laughed, and told me that was her street # too. What are the odds? So today, I pull the boat cover off, and climb up to screw the new cap on. Next, I went to pull the cover off the bilge pump for inspection, and what's this.....The old cap I lost a year and a half ago! What are the odds.........
 
you need to spend more time on your boat. :wink:

The last 4 numbers on my moms phone are the same last 4 of my ssn# and the street number of my base housing in the Marines. weird. can get it to equel 13 but I'm working on it.
 
Bucky, :idea I wonder if that's the same one I'm missing. :cry ..I'll check the diameter and get in touch with Perco. :phone The mast was missing when I bought the boat and I had to modify one of the newer ones to make it fit the base. :crook.... :smiled Jack

Jack, I realize that your vessel is a bit older vintage and that you've done a lot of work on her, however just thought that I'd mention the following. Not certain if it is true with the 16' angler but in the 16' cruiser and the 22', the company installed rubber mounts on the inside walls in the v-berth area to mount the light masts for storage. Additionally, the plug caps are normally stored on the instrument panel mounted on an appropriate size receptacle.

I do know that in the past some folks have thought that they'd never received either the cap or the mast only to find later where the company mounted them.

When I bought the boat it was almost 20 years old and aside from an inop. depth sounder it was pretty bare bones. The Mast head light was missing and used the old style triangular, 4 (?) wire base. I had to modify a new mast to make it fit and I never did see a cover for the base. :smiled Jack
 
fer what it's worth, the plastic caps that come on the disposable propane bottles are a perfect fit for that anchor light receptacle

Look in your bilge pump......From what I have read, you can find everything in there :)
