Iam bored and i hear there are whales in my area so we are leaving out of everret right now to go chase whales.

That's the way to do it! *Shrugs* "Hey what the heck, let's go boatin!"

Well the water was flat and the fishing sucked but we did see whales. At about 430 pm today, as we were trolling just north of Posseion point, We encountered two grey whales. they first rose about 100 yrd off the stern just to the south of us. We picked up the trolling gears and moved the boat in to shallow water just south of the bait box near possion point. As the Two greys moved slowly south in 200ft of water we shadowed them in 16 to 25 ft of water staying out of their way . We slowly moved south to about the east side green can just watching the whales moving along. Susan was trying very hared to get a shot of their tails but the greys would not cooperate and keep their tails in the water unless she was looking the other way. I will post pics and maybe some video in the morning. if I can figure it out. I must say that I never dreamed i would live in a area and have the means to just go see whales on a sunday afternoon because i was bored at home. I just love where i live and my boat.

on Sunday we were sitting in our living room after sharing an Easter brunch with our children and grand children, and we too saw the two Grey Whales. There was an article in the Whidbey paper describing how they are staying close to the shore here and rolling in the shallow water eating shrimp, etc. We are close to the opening of Cultus Bay, and this is the first time we have seen the whales since we moved here 17 months ago. We agree, what a great place to live!! John and Judy Kent
