We are moored in Everett so if you see the Northwest Thyme running around on the water in the Edmonds area feel free to say hello! April & Dan

April and Dan, congratulations on the purchase of your 22' Cruiser and welcome to the C-Brat Site. If we "see Northwest Thyme running around the water in".....EVERETT, can we "feel free to say hello!" also?

(Just a bit of teasing.....hope to see you.)

(P.S. I like the name of your boat....after looking at your occupation, I suspect there is a natural correlation.....really hope to see you at one of the gatherings as there is usually a potluck dinner...... :wink )

Ha! Love the warm welcoming! Chef and Pastry Chef on this boat...so Northwest Thyme was just too fitting!

Hope to see you all on the water and make it to some events.

Just wanted to introduce ourselves. I'm John, and Karen is my significant other and we have a mutt, Darius. We just purchased "Blues Cruiser" from Fred Simon in VA. Since we live in FL it was surveyed and bought sight unseen (bad idea) then shipped here. We have found many things that do not work as they should so it was a bogus survey. Nevertheless we love the little boat and are using it as we work out the bugs. So far we've put 30 hours on it and used an eighth of a tank of gas! Got to love that! I do hope the fuel gauge works. The steering isn't smooth, tach doesn't work right, trim tabs don't work, hot water heater doesn't work and leaks plus the shower drain leaks but I'm pretty handy and with your help will right this little ship before A/C is needed (hope that works)! We plan on cruising Lake Okeechobee, the Keys and eventually the Loop. Meanwhile we just cruise up and down the ditch (ICW) and entertain friends. We almost bought a Rossborough right up the way from us. Same price too but we didn't like the head being in the foward berth. That's our story and we're sticking to it. I'm also Glide on the Corvette forum so I love forums. Gotta change my handle on here if I can figure out how.

Welcome John,
The powers to be can make you an album. Just ask, or if they see this they will probably get it done . They can also change your name from cdory25 to something else.

Lots of information on this site and pictures of about everything you can think of.

Hi John and welcome.

Aloha all. Thought I'd introduce myself. Name's Steve. I live on Kauai but have a place on Prince of Wales island in AK. I became a C-Dory owner last Sept. Had been visiting my place in AK and was heading home. Realized the 15' aluminum skiff was a mite small for my desired adventures up North, so was looking for something more robust. As I sat in the Seattle airport waiting for the plane, I openned up Craigslist and saw a 22 Classic (?) for sale in Craig, on POW. 1983 and a bit worn, but asking price was $8500 with Honda 90+8. Decent trailer with adequate electronics and some fishing gear. No extra points for guessing the name of the boat... I thought to self "Perfect! But it's got to be gone already". Called the owner 2 days later and it was still available so I had a friend on POW check her out and he gave her a thumbs up. As it was sight unseen, I offered the owner $6500. It was mine. Got back up to POW last month, and was pleased with the purchase- needs some work which I expected- no biggy as I do marine mechanics for a living. Hope to have her in the water when I return in July. Will be scouring the forums for tips on improvements- I want to do what Jay and Jo-Lee on their Hunky Dory are doing now.

Hi everyone! My name is Paul, My wife Brianna and young daughter Lucille plan to join your ranks and I hope to see many of you around the San Juans, and North Puget Sound. We both have many years of boating experience but always admired the rugged good looks of C-dorys and dreamed of getting our own. I've been lurking around this site, absorbing information like a sponge, but now that were in a position to buy our own we couldn't be more excited.

We just sold our 20' Glasply cabin cruiser and some other toys and hope to find a 22' or 25' cruiser sometime in the next few months to call our own. We spend alot of our free time as a family out on the saltwater pulling pots, cruising and trolling for the catch of the day. Were excited to meet like minded folks from this area. What a great group of people!

PAUL, BRIANNA, LUCILLE --

Welcome to the site and (soon) to the world of C-Dory. You will continue to find this a most informative and interesting site. Join the gatherings when they start in Spring and the three of you have a wonderful time cruising with good friends. We look forward to reading your posts of family times shared on the water.

Welcome Paul and family,

You will find a whole new family to be a part of on the C-Brats site. I live on Guemes Is. There are dozens of C-Dorys with in 20 miles of you. Hope to see you out on the water this spring. Be sure to check out the Events button at the top. Next one is the Seattle Boat Show. Bring the family to Seattle and spend a night at the Silver Cloud, meet a bunch of C-Brats and do the boat show.

Thank you guys :D El and Bill, We've been reading about your travels, you guys are an inspiration to so many people. Even the commercial fisherman we sold our Glasply to, has been following your story. I mentioned we were upgrading to a c-dory and he said he's been reading your book.

Anna Leigh, we're very familiar with Guemes and lately have been spending many cold fogged in morning near shore in an aluminum skiff, dreaming about a warm c-dory cabin. We're definately ready!

We'll be at the boat show in January, but probably only for a day trip on Saturday. Were really pinching pennys to make this boat dream happen. I hope to meet some of you then.

Hello guys and gals. Have visited your site a few times over the years and always enjoyed it.

I am an Arima owner but always appreciated several of the qualities and designs that the C-dorys share.

I have been giving some consideration trading my Arima for a C-dory. Mainly for the hardtop and cabin feature of the c-dory.

They both have a loyal following of satisfied owners.

I hope to get a better education on the C-dory and maybe do a trade

Hey everybody, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My wife and I sold our San Juan 24 sailboat a few years ago, but the boating bug is biting again. This time we're interested in a small power boat so that we can go from point A to point B in a straight line. Since retirement is about 35 years away, we unfortunately have to make it back in time to get to the office on Monday morning.

I love to fish and my wife loves to camp/cruise, so we think that a CD-22 might be a good choice for us. We drooled all over the one at the boat show a few months ago, but that's the only one we've ever seen up close. For now, we're doing as much research as we can to figure out if this is the right boat for us and, if so, what features we'd want to look for in a used model.

We really appreciate all of the valuable information here and look forward to learning much more!

Joe

Welcome, Joe. Like you've already discovered, there's a ton of good info here and lots of good people as well. I'm sure someone near you could show you the ins and outs of the 22. We sure love ours.

Rick

Welcome, Joe. Camp, fish, cruise? My, you folks are fortunate to share those loves. 35 years to retirement? But, we know you think of those 35 years as a wonderful time to share those loves and get out on the water whenever you can (as you must have been doing on your sailboat).

The CD is a great boat for your loves, we think. Perfect to trailer in and out on the weekends, great for the longer cruises through the beautiful water in your corner of the US when you have vacation time, fun with kids ...

So, enjoy your time together and welcome to the CD crowd that enjoys sharing experiences and good times together. Get to a gathering if you can, and check out the boats -- surely an owner will offer a ride.

I drooled over the C-Dory for over a quarter of a century before finally buying one. Now I wish I hadn't waited so long!
