We Signed the Papers & Daydream is in the Mold!

Well Pat - maybe you can get out shrimping on Saturday then... Hope the boat turns out to be trouble free and all you've been planning for.

Roger on the SeaDNA

Hey Pat,

Great to hear the progress on your new boat! Been getting any sleep?

rather have it right than have it fast...there is light at the end of the tunnel

Couldn't agree more! After all, the time we wait for our boats is short compared to the time we will enjoy them.

Corwin

Roger - yes, we will try some Puget Sound shrimping, but it does not COMPARE to the Hood Canal, where you are pretty much guaranteed to limit on those big, tasty fellas...

Corwin - actually, I do sleep pretty well, and you can guess what I am dreaming about! Recently, our last overnight in the old Daydream, at Blind Island, has been playing on the inside of my eyelids!

I agree - but my wife and I did get our limits Sat. near Restoration point/Blake Rock without too much effort. Would have been done by noon if it wasn't for one lost pot that I looked for about 2 hours .... had two buoys and plenty of weight in the pot so I don't think it was lost to the current. I suspect it was either pulled by someone esle or accidently dragged into deep water by someone.... None-the-less, I'll be out there the Sat. also (with a newly purchased pot....)

Pat,
I'm certainly glad that Daydream is just about ready to splash! That means that Meander is only a week or so behind. :D :D You might be able to sleep but I sure manage to stay up late looking at electronics, radios, safety gear and such on the net. Sure is fun though.
Ron

Splash is right, tomorrow some time in the afternoon, you should be able to hear us shouting "Hurray" all the way up in Vancouver when Scott Mathews takes us out of the Des Moines Marina for our shake down cruise...

So, for (our) Memorial Day weekend we are going to be in the San Juans / Gulf Islands from Saturday through Monday, May 28 - 30, where are you going to be? 8) 8)

Pat,
Wow, it sure is getting close. Our boat will be going up to Galleon Marine in Langley BC for rigging when its completed. We probably won't be able to splash ours until the first of June so its unlikely we'll have it rigged and ready for the Memorial day weekend. I sure do look forward to meeting up sometime and comparing notes though. Anne and I will have to make it a priority to get to one of the C-Brat functions soon. I'll be listening for the cheering tomorrow. :beer :cigar :D
Ron

Well, who in their right mind would want to take a new boat home on Friday the 13th anyway...Saturday the 14th is obviously a much more propitious date...Andrew has a bit more to do, and we had a slight issue (now solved) with the hook up for the trailer lights (hint - ALWAYS check for a blown fuse FIRST). So, about 10:00 a.m. tomorrow is the new plan. Got a few good pix of Meander for Ron anyway...

arg, I drove all the way up, and spent the day in Tacoma just in the hopes of hearing a hooraa.....yup, you wouldn't want to be launching a new boat on Friday the 13th anyhoots

Pat and Patty...............CONGRATS!!!!!

Just came on line here at a little after 8 AM and can imagine you must either be on your way to Auburn/DesMoines or anxiously pacing the floor at home (NOT)! Agreed.......Friday the 13th just didn't sound right. Hope you had a SUPER day in the new DAYDREAM and all went well! :D

Doug

We are on our way to Auburn right now (9:00 am) to pick her up, and I am trying like crazy to convince Patty she must splash today (we drive right by the Coulon Park ramp on Lake Washington on our way), but Patty has a persistent cough, which has now by God become a matter of principle that she is not going to the doctor (I have been after her for at least the last two weeks), so who knows.

Hey Pat,

Is the Coulon Park ramp the one next to the marina where the guys sit on the dock and hold up score cards after each launching as if judges at an Olympic event? So, how did you score with your supersized rig?

If the guys are laughing too hard you can always give 'em one of these! :moon

Congrats,
Corwin

We'll see if she floats tomorrow...today Patty was feeling too crummy, so we went straight home. I loaded up life jackets, fenders, and dock lines first off. Then got the wire baskets installed in the galley, and the fire extinguisher mounted. Patty is installing the privacy curtains right now (seems to have made a bit of a recovery since this morning), pretty soon it will be time for sundowners, we will sit in the cockpit and pretend!

A crab cake cures a cough!! Did Daydream float??

We will need a full report wiht pic's. Glad to see you finally got it. I hope patty feels good in the morning so she has a good day on the water. I just dropped the Susan e at les's for a bow gauard repair and I am already missing her. Susan went to portland so Iam with a wife or boat.

Pat & Patty,

Congratulations are definitely in order. We're so happy :D for you and looking forward to seeing the new Daydream. Patty, sorry to hear that you've been sick. Joe's been really sick this week, too. Achy body with a dry hacking cough and a 102 temperature. Will have to mention to him about the crab cake cure. He'll like that idea :smile . Do hope that you get to feeling better soon and can get out and enjoy the new Daydream.

Until we see you again, take care.

Ruth & Joe
