Does anyone have a wash down pump that lasts more than one year.??? My JABSCO gunny-sacked after setting all winter. I drained it and ran RV antifreeze through it last fall.

Now it runs but slowly and will not pickup a suction. I have a pump section rebuild kit for it and will install it but if it doesn't run fast enough will that help any????

I went though 4 pumps on my 22' C-Dory and then gave up.

Hi,
I would double check the power and switch connections. Running slow sometimes can be an indication of low power. Meter the power lead while under load, with pump running. If the motor is running slow I would wonder if the rebuild will make that any better. my 2 cents

Solved the problem............bought a new Jabsco pump and installed it today. Works perfectly.
In the installing I may have found the problem with the old pump set-up. When pulling on the ground wire to strip off a little installation the old electrical connection came apart real easily. That may have been the problem all along. I checked the connections last week just for that reason but found them ok. Apparently they were not. There went $154 but I got a new pump and probably an old one that works for a back-up. May give it to my CD friend that has no wash down pump.

Next problem..............!!!!!!
