When I started to look for a boat in New England, I seem to always arrive after the boat was sold. I finally found one, but for the grace of God. I joined the USCGAux, and the boat was at the first meeting location, but not for sale. I offered to buy it, and rest is history.
You might contact all the yacht brokers in the area so when one comes on the market, you can move FAST. They don't stay on the market very long. Also keep looking on the internet, and letting people know that you are interested.
