Hey Guys,
Apologies if the link causes you problems, it comes from a tabloid in the UK but doesn't cause my 'puter any problems. I tried to find the original video link but that didn't seem to work.
It's all about a new lifeboat that can be launched from up to 200 ft or so above water from an oil rig. A bit like that video of dropping a brand new xx ft trashcanliner in the ocean.
No damn good for fishing and not enough windows for the Admiral to be good for cruising.

That boat makes me think about our now-sold CD 16 Cruiser. When we first got our boat, and with my wife driving on the CT River, she did not see a 2.5 foot boat wake ahead of our path. We hit the wave at around 25 MPH. Our boat became airborne and re-entered the water at the base of the next wave -- bow first. An unbelievalbe wall of water issued skyward and then we popped back up like a cork. How many boats made today for the price of a CD 16 can allow boaters to get away unharmed after making a foolish mistake like that?

I talked to guy that has a 16 in La Conner. He claims that he got side ways in a large tug wake over 5 ft tall while going slow. Said the 16 rolled all the way over , bounced on its top and then rolled back over on its bottom and just kept going. He was on the floor in the back at the end and had to scramble to the controls. Would not want to test that out but sounds like fun to me.

I can see that happening, but I'll wager he was going a lot faster than he thought - perhaps 8 knots or more. That CD 16 is a tough little boat, and we could travel places safely where few boat her size could follow. We loved her, but she was just too small for our needs and too limited (with respect to comfort) when we could take her out.
