Wallas Stove

I just purchased a CD25 and had the dealer exchange the alcohol stove for the wallas. On our first three day outing the stove would overheat while cooking and shutdown. I noticed in the installation manual that it states the stove needs to have ventilation holes or slot in the front of stove in the cabintry. Mine does not. Does anyone have a picture of the ventilation holes or slot. I guess I need to cut one in.

Here is a shot of the install while still at the factory...

It is hard to see, but there is a small vent (perhaps 1"x6") just under the wood trim on the counter, right in front of the stove. When we first used ours, we heard from other Brats who opened the cabinet door to allow more air flow. While waiting to get a vent installed, this may be another option.

When we worked on Warren's Wallas at the Bellingham gathering last year, I found Wallas customer support on the phone to be very helpful. They may have or know where to find the vent.

Sorry we're quite a ways away from the boat right now, or I'd get a close-up shot of the vent for you. The vent is just white plastic, as I recall.

HTH

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Patty here. We have a great straight-on picture of the vent in the cabinet in our album, Daydream. It's under "customizations' and I'd post the picture directly for you but I'm computer challenged in that department. Maybe Pat will read this and do it for you.

Yes you need to cut a hole in front so the heater part can expell it's heat when the top is down.
I have not had any problems with this stove, but never cooked on it either
