Wallas Question

Hi Brats,

I went out to Valkyrie today to putter around with some stuff and wasn't able to fire up the stove.

I had it on high, hit the start button, got the obligatory flashing red light, but no heat. I waited for a while and tried again, but no luck.

There are about four inches of diesel in the bottle, the batteries are both charged and I had on shore power. It worked just fine about a month ago.

I hope there is a simple fix and I don't have to tear down anything.

As always, thanks for your help.

Nick, there is a long, detailed thread on the old C-DOG archives about trouble shooting a Wallace. You might try that, or asking Ken, the ex-moderator of that site. John

Nick-

One of the most common problems with starting a Wallas is not having enough voltage to operate the electronics that control the stove.

Charge the battery and try again!

Good Luck!

Joe.

adding on to what joe said. I have a better time lighting the wallace if the top is up and the fan is not drawing voltage. also if the fuel was interupted for any reason the wallace does a auto shut down, which takes forever. so find the main power plug on the wallace , right hand side lower part of the cirut board. unplug it and count to ten. Plug back in and try to start. if it does not start, oh put a finger on the pump so you can feel it coming on or not, it takes about 20 seconds for it to come on. if it does not kick on then unplug ,turn switch off count to ten and replug and repeat. this will get the pump to reprime with out the ten mintue shut down the wallace has. also try squeezeing the fuel bottle once before lighting. hope this helps and dont tell scan marine you know me...
