Vendor"Atta Boy" for Angola Canvas

Zippers straight down from outboard of the towers. There is enough flap at the top to keep almost any water from getting in. I'll post another pic in a bit.

We got one too, Karl. For the price, the quality is great. We have the same zipper around the arch set-up and it's kept the boat dry & clean all winter. I plan on putting a few more tie-down locations along the lower edge at some point though.

Just need to develop some memory in the fabric to keep the flap folded the right way to keep most of the water out.

We're so excited to be able to put the boat away clean and then not have to wash it before we take it out again!

Karl that looks like a great setup. Will have to see about getting one myself. On a side note we just got our boat back today with a new camper back canvas, complete with removable changing room/ head. King Canvas did the work. What great service. That Dave is a stand up guy. Great work also. Didn't mean to hijack your post.

This is out second season with the Angola Canvas cover. Had over 130 inches of snow last winter and 86 so far this year and the cover has done great. I did have to run a large closet pole from the rear of the cabin to the splash well to keep the cover over the cockpit from sagging with the weight of the snow. Certainly not the fault of the cover.

Karl,

You mention just over $800 for a 22 Cruiser; did you shop around Tacoma or Seattle for a comparable price?

And does that $800 include shipping?

Thanks.

I posted this on another thread re: Angola. Prices are for a 25 Cruiser.

I called Ed @ Angola. Very knowledgable and answered all my questions etc. He told/quoted me the following for a cover for our 25:

Aqualon: 100% waterproof and 5 yr warranty. Good for use in heavy snow areas as it will not stretch like Sunbrella, BUT it is not breathable, so the risk of mold growth is high. $850 + $35 frt

Sunbrella: well you all know w/ a 5 yr manufacturer material warranty. $975 + $35 frt.

Hey Rick,

I was quoted just over 1000$ (plus tax I assume) from a well known source in Seattle. That's for a 22 with radar arch. And yes, the just over $800 figure included shipping.
Been doing any river fishing?
Karl

Thanks, Karl, that's a decent price with shipping included.

Springer season is fast approaching on the Columbia. I'll probably be out there every weekend after about mid-March until it closes in April, then I'll run up the Willamette and fish it for a few weeks. No finer tasting fish than a Columbia Spring Chinook. :)

Hi chuck, New guy here.-- I am a c- dory owner wanabe and have been looking for a 22 cruiser for a while now. One thing that my wife would appreciate would be some privacy when it comes to dressing and answering natures call, hence my interest in your removable room and head. Wondering if you could post some pics. so we could see how this works. Also if anyone has a line on an older 22 cruiser for sale I would appreciate a heads up. Thanks

Rick, do you take C-Dawg to the Columbia and Willamette or go on friend's boat?
I usually fish out of my boat.

I haven't sat in hoglines because I don't have an anchor setup that I could just release easily and float away from. I mostly troll down hill on the outgoing and both ways during the flood and slack.

Last year I stayed a few days moored at Sand Island at the mouth of the Multnomah Channel of the Willamette, across from St. Helens, OR. Fished around the mouth of the Lewis in the Columbia, then up the Multnomah Channel towards Scappoose. Cool thing about the Willamette is that it has a two fish limit and stays open through April. A two or three day Oregon license is relatively cheap.

Last year I fished one morning out of Dave Vedder's (noted author) boat. That guy's a character. :)

Clint,

Here's what I did on my 22.
BoatWithExternalHeadCanvas.jpg

I had a custom canvas enclosure made for the cockpit that allowed me to leave the porta-potty external to the cabin. It snapped to the cross bar of the camper enclosure and also zipped to the starboard side at the top. Snaps held it to the bulk head on the starboard side and velcro provided an easy opening door towards the port side. It served us well. I also had a "screen" that velcro'd to the starboard aft window. When the enclosure was up, the darkness in the enclosure + the screen made it almost impossible to view into the enclosure from inside the cabin (almost like a "one-way" mirror). This could also be used as a changing room.

Rodger, Thanks for the pic. That looks like somethjng that we would like to do when we get our hands on a C-Dory. I would just like to say that I have gotten some pretty ingenous ideas from the people on this site and have been impressed by how helpful and friendy you all are. A really great forum. Thanks to everyone. Makes me all the more eager to find a 22 cruiser.

My set up is alot like Roger's except I located mine,I mean Kathy's, in the back center of the cockpit. Right in front of the splashwell. That way I still have access to both lazerettes and downriggers when up. Would love to post pictures but to be totally honest I don't know how. Trailer brakes, engine tune ups,oil changes no problem Pictures no way. Brings me to my next question.

Chuck - send Tyboo Mike or Da Nag a PM and ask for a photo album (you don't have one now). When you get one, do a quick search on the site about how to post an image or just hit the "help" button - upper right and read the "destructions".
