Vancouver C-brats?

Hey all, new member here.

A friend and I have begun the process of researching a boat to possibly purchase together and we're both hooked on the idea of C-Dories. Having done a fair bit of researching on the Internet we'd really like to experience the actual boat on water!

If anyone in the Vancouver area is interested in taking us out for a couple of hours we'd be more than happy to supply lunch and cover expenses.

Welcome to the C-Brats website! You will find this site offers a wealth of info about C-Dory's and general small boat knowledge.

I know when I was looking around about a year and a half ago - when we bought our C-Dory (first boat we ever had) the folks on this website answered many queries I had. Check out the 'Search' function to access past threads about just about any topic you can think of related to C-Dory's.

Too bad you missed it (not right next door to Vancouver, but pretty close), but there was a recent CBGT (C-Brats Get Together) at Nanaimo on July 31st thru August 2nd. It would have been a great opportunity to see and probably ride on many different C-Dory models as well as speak directly to the owners.

There is another much smaller CBGT coming up September 11th - 13th in Sequim, WA. Although a lot smaller then the recent Nanaimo gathering (looks like less then a dozen boats for this one) w/ only about 10 C-Dory's it still would give you a chance to see a few different boats (not sure the full model line will be as well represented as it wa sin Nanaimo), and get up close personal feedback about the good and bad aspects of these boats.

Sequim is definitely a lot further then even Nanaimo, but the opportunity is there if you want to come down, see the boats, and even socialize w/ other C-Dory owners.

Well, you are a bit too late to hitch a ride with our former Vancouver Brats, Ron and Anne on Meander...they sold their home and business and hit the road. Do a search on author "Meander" and read about their travels. There probably is SoMEBODY else in Vancouver! You MIGHT get a hotel room in Sequim and go to the Sequim CBGT (B-Brat Get-Together), you would be more than welcome to all the activities and you could probably get a ride on several different flavor of C-Dorys.
 
Would have been great to check out the Get Together but I was still thinking 'sailboat' at that time! That was until my new boat partner likened sailing to standing in a cold shower tearing up $100 bills... LOL.

We are also considering Arima's which seem pretty comparable to the C-Dorys.

At any rate this site is great and a wealth of information so thanks to all for the contribs.
