@nickyn99 Don't get too upset about being called a troll. Everyone in the lower penninsula of Michigan is called a troll and there are far more important things on this site to get upset about. Trust me I know.
As for the original question, try not to worry too much about what people spend or save. True, I hate to overpay for things but, I love a great deal also. I just bought a $90 electrical cable new for $20 and the seller refunded an additional $8 for overcharge on shipping (very honest). Good deal for me. I sold a truck camper that I owned for 5 years and doubled my money. The buyer did get a fair price and a very nice rare camper. I didn't tell him that though. As for my boat that I'm selling, I'll probably take a soaking on that. With no good leads and a tough economy, I'll probably jump at the first best offer and loose big time.
The secret is, don't ask and don't tell. You will eat yourself up inside if you let it get to you. If you've ever said "must be nice ... to be rich, or have certain possesions" you might have jelousy issues. Learn from others on how to make a buck. Its not always big profits. Most of the time I've broke even with my stuff (motorcycles, boats, computers).
Even labor rates can seem unfair to people. I'm doing landscape work for my neighbors and customers I get through my day job. $20 an hour cash. A complete fall cleanup, gutter cleaning, bushes trimmed, debris removed, and mowing. The yard which was neglected for 2 years straight is now a perfect 10 for only $200 total and the customer said to me "I can't believe that you work so cheap!". A neighbor down the block saw the progress and asked for my rate and was shocked. Thats fine, call a company and get a quote.
