up in the air junior birdman!

Neat--I spotted a " Gilmore red lion" (of course a kit plane)--which was a replica of the plane Roscoe Turner flew. Roscoe Turner was from Corinth MS. and was an early stunt pilot, racer, trans continental speed air speed record setter etc. Roscoe Turner was a cousin of Marie's mother, and he used to land the plane in their back "40" before WW II in the 20's and 30's He carried a lion cub in the "co-pilot's" seat for publicity for the Gilmore Gas company--when the lion cub which he carried in the plane when barnstorming got too big to fly in the plane it was kept in their "compound" until a zoo took it....Eventually the lion died in 1952 and was stuffed and is some Washington DC museum. You never know what will show up on A C Brat site.

Very Cool, just wish there was some way to know the scale on them. Looks like fun. Have had RC pilot friends over time but never got into it myself. When we bought our house in Seq, the place was full of RC planes, parts and tools, equipment and leftovers. the planes were in multiple stages of assembly, but all the radio stuff, control's and receivers were stripped out. I think the son came and took the high dollar stuff and split. There was even a suburban with a rack in the back for half a dozen planes, fuel tank and battery charge setup all built in. Most of the stuff was donated out I think. It was all up to the Realtor.

Thanks for the link to the video.
