Has anyone use the Shakespeare Seawatch antenna on there boats? I'm not looking for a cable system just what ever is local while at the marina.

We don't have one on our CD22, but on our 32' Sundowner Tug we did. It was certainly better than nothing, but it was a hit and miss as far as reception. We traveled 900 miles one year and the antenna was only marginal -- sometimes we found that the "powered" rabbit ears worked just as good.

I have used the Shakesphere anennas--and have one currently--but I would wait and see what is available in High Def TV in your area. Simple whips seem to work very well--the signal and picture is much better than analogue.

See: http://whereishd.com/ I can only get 3 or 4 analogue stations at my house. I get over 15 HD., with a simple whip antenna in the house on my computer with an adaptor.
