Trip to Nashville

another comfortable day in nashville tn. very cool at 96 degrees!
linda and i met my dad, the byrdman and my uncle mike, for dinner at the cherokee marina and steak house. the food was excellent, however, my dad, the byrdman forgot to mention, the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol! what was he thinking! no frozen margaritas! how is that possible, ok, so maybe byrdman isn't my dad and just maybe mike isn't my uncle, doesn't matter because at least our waitress thought they were! not sure where she would have gotten that information.
had a great time visiting with old friends and looking forward to relocating to the old hickory lake area.

Carl & Jo Ann: We did not see yall out on the river as we cruised yesterday. We were on the water from about 1030-630 with the above mentioned dinner at 430.

We did get to see Patrick and his wonderful lady Miss Linda for dinner, and, we were able to get Brigner/C-Pearl on board (MM230 LBD) on ALOYSIUS for a couple of hours between his return trip from OH and him taking back out for another scheduled engagement. We were sorry that both Miss B (Brenda/GYPSY) and Miss Cathy/(C-PEARL) were not able to join the ride and enjoy the laughs. There will be another day.

Carl: Now if you are going to be in the area a while, you truly need to go up river to at least the Celina Bridge. One lock and dam that needs a 24 hour notice of your scheduled lock times (both up and back down). Hook back up if you plan to go up river with GYPSY as they have enjoyed that wonderful trip several times and will have the lock master's number/name on file. We just let them take care of that end when we go up river as a group.

Enjoy the cooler weather that is coming....and be careful of the blow up storms that come with them. Drop me a call if you are going to stay up river some as I plan to be back in MJ next week working around the boathouse and Mom's house, MM233 area and MM 236 area.

Sorry we missed you last night. We visited with our cousin that lives here in Gallatin about a block from marina. We ate at the Cherokee marina and steak house last night. We got there at 4 and stayed until 6. We were back in the glassed in part looking over the marina. We thought you were going to call or c -brat us a for sure on looks like a party. It was a great place to eat. We are planning to leave Gallatin Monday or Tuesday and go back to Hendersonville- Creekwood Marina. October 1 we are planning to start back to Gulf Breeze so we arrive November 1-10. Tonight we plan to eat at Gallatin Marina.

We arrived home Nov 10 at 3:30 pm from Nashville. 3 months on a 25 C-Dory is great. We really enjoyed it. It was a wonderful trip. Lots of comments from the mega yacht folks. I will tell every C-Dory owner. Get on your boat and go somewhere. We are looking at a spring trip from Pensacola up and back on Apalachicola, Chattahoochee, Flint to Columbus, GA. Has anyone done this trip? Any advice? I have ordered charts from CoE in Mobile. Also, have a 2010 Quimby's Cruising Guide which has info on marinas on the rivers. Looks like there are no electronic charts. Thanks for your help.
