I’m just researching C-dory’s and want to sit in one or get a ride. I’m going to the Trawlerfest but assuming that’s mostly larger boats. Does C-Dory usually go there? And if not is there anyone in Ft Lauderdale area I could visit with to see one - most interested in 25, 26 or Tom Cat 255.
Thanks

Probably not, at least nobody every talks about it. However, there is a gathering coming up at Hontoon Island State Park on the St. John's River up near Deland (south of Ocala) March 4, 5 & 6. There will be CD-22's, 25s' and a couple of Tomcats. Likely a 23 and 26 as well. Colby

I was one of the presenters at Trawler Fest for a number of years, until Passagemaker magazine bought it and installed their employees in the lecture slots.

No really small boats in the past. Very doubtful that you would see a C Dory there. The smallest boat there this year will be the Ranger Tug 27. It is only $15 for the boat show--far more expensive for the lectures--(at least $675 for all days in a package--over $1100 if non package. Hotel is over $350 a night.

Instead go to Hontoon the same week, and get rides on C Dorys, most likely all of the models will be there. It is free, and you can find nearby hotels as low as $120 a night.

Most of the boats will be on Hontoon Island for the day. You park on the land side, in a parking lot. There is a free ferryboat which takes you to the Island. Walk down the dock and ask if you could see that boat. On at least one day, there is a "cruise around the Island"--that is a great time to get a ride.
