My boat has bottom paint that loves to keep the boat stuck on the trailer. When putting the boat back on the trailer the motor had to be used along with the winch,a real pain in the !!!!!! Ordered some bunk covers made of plastic, removed all the carpet, covered all the bunks with them.We took the boat out yesterday and Wow! boat comes of super easy and goes back on the way it should very little throttle pushes her right up.

I applied the slick rails to my bunk trailer for the 16 and was amazed at how easily the boat slides in and out of the water.

The bunks on my magic tilt need to be replaced and it was hard to get the boat on and off. Where did you get the plastic and how did you fasten it?
Thanks
Alan

boattrailerpartssuperstore.com they came with stainless screws and washers

We love the slick bunks, and have sold a lot of King trailers (which has them stadard) because of them.

Just a word to remind some of you that in some of our former discussions of these slick bunk coverings, some members decided that they liked the slick coverings on the back half of the bunks only, and retained carpeting on the front half so that the bow of he boat would "stick" better when retrieving the boat onto the trailer.

100% coverage made the front of the trailer so slick the wet bow of the boat would only slide back down and back off the trailer when powering onto it during retrieval.

Also, if you go 100%, be sure to always tie the boat down good, or you might be hiring a big crane or wrecker to put it back on the trailer for you. :smileo

(Remember the incident on Whidby Island?

Actually those of us who have cats have done the opposite--put the slicks on the front of the trailer and the carpet on the back bunks. I surveyed a ProKat Saturday, and it had the slicks on the front, carpet on the back.

I would caution about all slicks--maybe too slick....?

Bob-

Yikes! I got it backwards!

Should have looked it up!

One demerit humbly taken!
