Towing

I have a 25' cruiser with twin 90's and an EZLoader tandem axel trailer. How large and powerful a vehicle do I need to tow this pair?

Congrats on the boat! This topic comes up FREQUENTLY here. General consensus is a 3/4 ton or larger vehicle is best. That said, there are others who tow the 25 with smaller vehicles. You will hear that it depends on where you tow and how far you tow. An emergency stop can come up at any time, even a short tow from your house to the ramp.

One of the best things we did to make towing more comfortable was upgrading the surge brakes to electric over hydraulic.

Do a search here on tow vehicles and you will find PLENTY to keep you busy reading.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

I'll echo Jim's comment. Electric over hydraulic is a must... the first time you feel the trailer pulling you back instead of pushing you forward you'll be sold.

Cheers!

I see you live in Berzekly and its all up or down hill from there. I escaped Nor Cal 9 years ago but have driven every county north of Bakersfield more then a few times and you are going to want a 3/4 ton truck of some type. Any where worth going in Cal is up hill.

Yes to breaks of some sort. Every one has there fav's. Electrics suck, no holding power. hydraulic surge have their up and down side and Electric controlled hydraulics are pretty hard to beat. As least a two axle trailer if not three. After you get the truck make sure the trailer and the truck are set up right. tongue weights are important to happy towing.
