Too Old

Jim, don't ever give up. I'm 82 years old and still try to get in a little fishing! Most of my old friends are gone or they have an easy chair in front of the TV and thats where they stay.
I try to keep pushing myself to get out and do stuff, next week I am going to try to get over to Ft Bragg Ca for a week and maybe hookup with a salmon and If I don't get one , BIG Deal! I also use my inflatable to fish the Sac River, salmon, shad, or what the hell just take a ride.
This summer I would like to cruise the Sac river from Coulsa to the Sf bay area with my C Dory, anyway that something to plan for.
I know that this area is not as beautiful as the Pacfic North West but it's here and so am I.

But there is another way to enjoy Southeast Alaska/Inside Passage without challenging your boating skills, fueling and refueling, anchoring, checking weather and all that goes with Cruising in your own boat.

It's call the "Alaska Marine Highway System"

After trading in our 16' for a 25' cruiser, I've been hard pressed to unchain ourselves from work to enjoy cruising more than a few hours a month. Too old or too busy keeps us moored to our slip in Juneau. Someday, I hope that changes.

Maybe its time to get back into a16' cruiser again. A 4wd vehicle & 16' cruiser/trailer don't cost that much to visit Southeast Alaska communities from Juneau via AMHS. Just find a boat launch at the destination and cruise around till ready to come home. At least I could scope out these remote destinations in hope we could cruise there someday on the 25' cruiser.

Sigh!
