I took two test drives in the Tom Cat, two in Glacier Bays and one in a World Cat. For the most part, Cat dealers are more than happy to give a sea trial. Also try and get a ride in a private boat. You may learn more about the boats that way. The Dealers boats will be bare bones--and a private boat will have more electronics, flow meters etc. Also the Permatrims are a good addition, and I suspect that no dealer will have these. Also the engines and the way they are set up makes quite a difference.
Take at least a hand held GPS when you take the Sea trial. If the dealer will not arrange a sea trial, then go elsewhere!
Be sure that YOU drive the boat, and play with trim etc
