Tire Cost

Patty, try onlinetires.com for a price. If you buy tires on the internet you can take them to Sears where they will cheerfully mount and balance them for you for $11 a tire. We bought BFG's for our F350 and was much less then local retailers.

Patty,

After hearing all the great things folks say about Les Schwab, I stopped by their store in Sequim, after being ignored for 10-15 minutes, I wandered up and down their racks of tires. I didn't see one brand that I would put on either of my vehicles!

Costco usually has the good brands at the best prices. If I lived near Bend, Bob Burks would, of course, do my tire work.

Must be a Sequim thing. I just pull into the Kenmore parking lot and someone jogs out the door to meet me before my feet hit the ground. The biggest thing that got me hooked is that when I first went in with a tire that had a hole in it, they fixed it for free (not their tire) and said "just buy your next set from us". I've done that a few times (usually with tires that came on a new car) and I get the same result. Friendly, free service. I've bought from them for the past 20 years as a result. I haven't had a problem with a tire from them but I'm confident they'll stand behind their warranty. They've always done good work and never try to sell me anything I don't really need. They may not be the cheapest but I trust them and know they will be there when I need them.

I already told my stuck at the side of I-5 with a flat trailer tire in a previous post. They (Les Schwab) made it out in 20 minutes and had the tire done and back on in another 20 minutes total. The service guy even brought both a radial and bias ply trailer tire just in case mine was beyond saving. He not only patched it he also plugged it and was so consientious that he made sure the raised letters on the repaired tire were installed like the other three; which meant removing the tire AGAIN as he put it on right side in. I told him I didn't care as it's only cosmetic, but he wouldn't hear it. I've also bought tires at Costco in the past and had no issue or complaint with their service or prices either.
