The World

Just saw the condominium cruise ship The World going down the Columbia. According to AIS its destination Seattle. It is a pretty cool deal.

I saw it going over the Fremont bridge and wondered what it was....I couldn't see a gangplank and it's in an area I wouldn't have thought was for cruise ships.

Beerman...as you and I both know something that big could only fit going over the Steel bridge.

Lord knows not much can fit going beneath it. I've been having to drop my VHF antenna or else it smacks the girders.

Which suite was yours, Mike??

Wasn't able to get one yet. I only want one of the best, and I was a little short of the five million bucks they go for.

How'd they get a ship that big to go over the Fremont bridge? :wink

Different city, differnt times, but 40 plus years ago, I lived under the north end of the Aurora Bridge in Seattle - before the Troll moved in. That put me, of course, just up the hillside a block or so from the (other)Fremont Bridge (and only a couple of doors down an alley from "The Frogwing Institute," but that's another story . . .). You wouldn't believe some of the things I saw entering The Republic of Fremont via that bridge back in the day. And I'm sure many of my neighbors regularly saw things on that bridge that weren't there.
