We have splashed our boat once a month all year round since February 2003...the string was broken today. We had planned to take a little Lake Washington cruise, launch at Mercer Island, go to Ivar's on Lake Union for fish and chips, chowder and lemonade...alas, all day long, mist, fog, showers, torrential rain - and the icing on the cake, the hail just now stopped. Oh, well...

You did the Inside Passage, and you let a little fog and hail on Lake Washington ruin the string . . ?

Cal Ripken, Jr. would be rolling over in his grave if he heard about this. ('Course, he ain't dead yet . . )

Pat - you've still got tonight, Mon and Tues. Run it down to Sammamish or Lake Wa. in the AM. You can't mess with the streak, who knows what ill may befall you or the boat if you do. :wink:
 
Oh, great, I am leaving tomorrow and coming home from Maui to cold rain and hail.
I bet Pat figures out a way to at least get onto Lake Sammamish for a few hours.
 
Nope, just not gonna happen...but the weather here has really been great, it just went to Hell in a handbasket today. Looks like it is going to be good for your return, too.

Pat - you need to get another C-Dory!! I know you could get on the water if you had three of the things.
 
Pat-We had planned exactly the same thing for today. So, because of the rotten weather we decided to go to church in Ballard instead. About 10:15 I'm on the 520 bridge heading to Seattle and it's pouring on the east side and there is blue sky and a perfect day on the Seattle side. My wife says "Don't look, but there is a beautiful rainbow to the north." Somebody is telling me something!

Pat – start a new streak.

I had planned on going out of Olympia today. The weatherman had promised it would be windy and rough with small craft warnings. That is what I wanted but when I got up, it was a beautiful day. The sky was clear and calm, so I decided to go south and west. Not to boat but to look at some land I was interested in. The land is in the Naselle area and a couple of small parcels on Baker Bay at the mouth of the Columbia River. After looking, Terri and I decided to go to the ocean just south of Seaview at Port Canby State Park. It was a nice day there but windy. The surf was really up and pounding on the rocks. Very impressive. One of the rougher times I had been to the ocean.
 
Hi Pat,

You may have to modify your parameters a bit and make it "getting out"... drive up onto one of your ferries and take a short cruise; at least it will keep your "streak" intact. Over the last 7 years, we have gotten out every month, but on a few occasions it took getting out on someone else's boat to get it done. Thank goodness for vacations. :wink
