And now, without getting too far off course here, I can say I saw one, I have one, and it is COOL. Well, I think so, It is a different look and it has lots of photos, good ones, and emphasizes the unique capabilities, economical advantages, and looks toward the commraderre of the C-Dory. Credit for the photos are given to the C-Brat albums by name, and Neil Rabinowitz.

Now back to your regular programing............ :wink

And speaking of new phone books, .........

I got my first Fisheries Supply Catalogue the other day with it's 1608 pages and fold out tabs and indices (indexes), and what a great reference it is!

I wore the cover off my West Marine Catalogue this year, using it to look up information for this site as well as personal use.

Too bad the Fisheries Supply Catalogue only has list prices, but with changing retail prices, I can see their point it saying that if your interested in a product and it's present price, follow up by checking it out on line or by calling them up. Probably helps minimize the revisions in the catalogue from year to year, too. (I imagine commercial customers get significant discounts, as well.)

Imagine Archimedes running down the street naked and fresh out of the bathtub, yelling "The new _______*________ is here!" , instead of "I found it!" (The principle of displacement/flotation.)

The brochure is really selling the C-Dory lifestyle. My understanding is the plan is to have cut sheets on each individual model to slip into the pocket in the back of the brochure, with more details about each model than the brochure has room for.

The Venture series is also in the brochure.

And for really interesting discussion-

On page 2 (inside cover) is a green hulled C-Dory with twin Hondas on it. It is labeled a 22 Angler- but it has the long house of a cruiser. Mislabeled? Look again- it has no aft bulkhead! Anybody know what boat this is? Was an Angler made with a long cabin for someone?

Just curious.

It could also be a Cruiser with a owner-done cut out of the bulkhead by someone who wanted more fishing room.

However, the Tolands were, and are, great experimenters and developers, and did a lot of custom boats for customers, so it's more likely that type of thing, IMHO.

Nevertheless, the next time someone has a hard time deciding between an open newer CD-19 and an older 22 Angler or Cruiser, buying and older cruiser and modifying it to one's own needs would be a fun and creative project for someone with all the necessary skills!

However, I, for one, would not want to give up the solid Alaskan bulkhead unless I was turning the boat into a daytime fisher to be used only for charter work, where you need a lot of open room for several folks. It would probably also be a harder task to re-sell such a boat, IMHO.

I've not seen the picture, but C-Dory made such a boat a few years back - called it the "Express Cruiser", as memory serves. I saw one at the short-lived Alameda dealer quite a while back, and also at the 2004 SBS - might have been the same boat. I found this pic, which I took when investigating arches - not much detail of the rest of the boat.

It was a 22 Cruiser, with no aft bulkhead. The interior had two bench seats behind the front seats, facing each other - with storage underneath.

Made no sense to me, and given that I've never seen another, I'll suggest it was a flop.
 
Sport Cruiser I believe it was called. Some guy bought one to use as sort of a water taxi I think.
