The Nashville Skyline Cumberland & Tennessee Rivers Crui

Hi BillE!
Make room for us, also.
Added since you were last aboard at the 2016 Appachicola gathering is dual 12" Garmin 8212 displays, HDX24 radar on a Bob Austin PVC Commode Mount, hailer/auto foghorn, AIS 600 tx/rec, SS handholds aft overhangs and over water inlet, 2nd Armstrong dive ladder mount at bow for beaching, Victron 702 battery mgt system, Blue Seas P12 40A charger, and a fair amount of gray hair.
Dietary: Neither of us likes beets, but they are not a standard in most BBQ.

Your frustration with the 'rat's nest' of electrical under the helm may take years to correct. At 5 years we're still plugging away at it after quadrupling it. Patience, Brother. Or, a pro can fix it for a few more Boat Units. With any boat, it's always a few more Boat Units. Glad you joined the club.
Cheers!

Jim, we're getting close to leaving in a few days. Going to visit kids and cousins along the way. This is the most excited Kitty has ever been about a boat ride. Can't wait to see everyone.

BillE, the YC get together sounds wonderful. Thanks for putting it together. John Purvis, "Firefly".

I did a write-up on our cruise on the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers that we did in May 2018 that may be of interest. www.glen-l.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=33192

I will also be back on the Tennessee River Sept. 5-23 cruising round trip from Kentucky Dam Marina to Chattanooga. Will be spending several days at Halls Bar Marina with other boat builders of Glen-l designs.

OK, while we DO have enough slips reserved for Thursday 8/13 we may be short on electrical hookups. So, can anyone do without hookups for the night?

----" a wake up call from the Concierge and room service in the morning would be great.---"

Sure, also comes with turn-down service and a mint on your pillowcase!

Far C'r is fine without hookups, we are powered by the sun :) Thank you so much for the hospitality.

Just curious where the Yacht Club is in Nashville. Is it the Rock Harbor Yacht Club that I see on the map? I am arriving in Nashville on the 6th and want to spend 3 nights visiting a friend but have been unable to find parking for boat & trailer at any storage facility in the area, would it be possible to pay for boat/trailer storage at the Yacht Club for 3 nights? I am also considering dropping the boat off at Granville and driving the jeep back to Nashville but that is a long round trip.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, be safe on the roads

Commodore Yacht Club is on Overall Creek at Cumberland River mile marker 172.4. about three miles past Rock Harbor. It will be to Port and easy to miss coming from town, as you don't really see the sign until you've passed it, so slow down when close. There is a marked channel leading to the marina.
You will likely be greeted by our resident flock of geese.

We usually want power if we go to a dock. But we also have several long extension cords, and splitters so can run 15 amps to other boats. Looking forward to meeting up. Having a dog, a wake up call is not necessary!

Thanks Bill~!

BillE, I also can live without elect. Finally have my new moterbroken and I WILL be able to keep up easily. Snow in Yellowstone Park already so warmer weather will be welcome. I have been looking forward to this trip for months. Much thanks to all who did so much work. Lew " broken in"

Dear All.

Please remember to bring your boat insurance papers with you. Many marinas require this documentation.

Bill informed me that when we stay at his marina near Nashville that they will require the boat insurance information.

More activities for those that are interested and can make it.

Mike the local fishing guide where we are parking our trucks and trailers has invited us to the Granville Bluegrass Festival on Saturday night, September 8th.

There will be three award winning artists. One won a Bluegrass Grammy and one is on XMs Bluegrass Junction. This is supposed to be one of Tennessee's best Bluegrass and Ole time music festivals in a real rural setting.

Dinner is at 5:00 PM and the syndicated radio show starts at 7:00 PM. The dinner represents the best in Tennessee's Southern Cooking. The cost is $20 for admission and dinner!

If you are interested in going with me and Kath and Mike let me know and I will put in reservations for you.

Any Boat US members get a discount on the already cheap slip rental and any gas purchased at the club, so if you are member bring your card.

Info for all staying at CYC marina Thursday 9/13.

If possible, contact the harbormaster in advance. His name is Ron, He works Thursdays thru Mondays 9-5 Central time. His phone is 615-356-4110 and his email is info@commodoreyachtclub.com

This will allow you to email your insurance info, sign a liability waiver, and perhaps pay for your slip ahead of time if you choose.
I have given him a list of who is coming and he will be expecting to hear from you.

Dear All.

Information on the Wildwood Granville Marina.

We will be launching Pounder on Sunday, September 9th at this Marina. We have reserved 6 slips for Sunday night for the entire group.

The morage cost will be $1 per foot per night. There is no launching cost. They have 30 amp service. The dock guy is David and we will be staying on C Dock.

On Saturday night (September 8th) Kath and I are staying in an Airstream trailer at Wildwood Resort living it up.

Dr Lew, Kath and I are going with fishing guide Mike to the Granville Bluegrass Festival and Dinner Saturday night.

On Sunday night we will be staying on our boat in Granville so we will be ready for an early departure Monday (September 10th) morning.

No need for anyone to do anything. Just show up at least by Sunday (September 9th) and launch. If you want to stay at Granville Marina Saturday night (September 8th) call Karen at (931) 653-4360 and make an additional night reservation at the dock for yourself.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Granville. Mike the fishing guide says it is a beautiful place and it is difficult to leave this area!

Jim & Kath
