thanks dave,
i'm not a fan of balsa wood core, so my nod would go to marinaut, assuming all else is comparable, price/terms/warranties. from my advantage the marinaut looks extremely simular to the c-dory. additional space is always a good consideration.

Thanks - I wonder with the trailer and motor what the length would be. I only have a bout 25' in my driveway to play with. Will you be posting a price list anytime soon?

It sounds like you have the typical So Cal driveway as I have. Mine is a measured 26 ft. from garage wall to the sidewalk seam. My 22 ft. C-Dory fit but only because I ordered a Pacific trailer with a swingarm up front AND I backed it in with the motor in the down position. First pix in my album shows the whole boat. Fortunately the grade allowed me to back in with the motor down without hitting the skeg.

I suspect the Marinaut trailer will end up exactly the same as the C-22 trailer since most trailer mfg use the same frame for several sizes, only customizing the bunker configuration for individual boats.

I should add that there was sufficient room to walk between the garage and the outboard so I could back up about a foot more without problem but not without someone back there to help stop before putting expensive holes in the stucco...!

Here's a photo of the swingarm.

Thanks for the info.
Nick - I am on the Dalles Mountain with no Internet connection except for my iPhone and it is a sick excuse for posting on this forum.

Somehow I missed your question earlier. I will measure the boat on the trailer when I get back to Olympia this weekend.

No problem - Do you know what brand trailer and brand motor options you guys will be offering?

Thanks

These dimensions are based on the trailer as it is set up with an Evinrude 90hp E-TEC engine.
The trailer has surge breaks. Electric breaks should save you a few inches.
The length of the boat on the trailer is 28’ 9” with the engine up.
The length of the boat on the trailer is 27’ 8” with the engine down.
The height to the top of the boat is 8’ 7”

The front post on the trailer can be moved forward 24” and the axle can be moved forward 23”
By doing this, your length will be 26’ 9” with the engine up and 25’ 8” with the engine down.
A folding tongue with electric breaks should get you at or under 25’

It will make a difference when launching the boat in that you will have to back the tow vehicle closer to the water’s edge.

I did this on my 16’ C-Dory when I lengthened it to 18’. I was able to get the 18’ on the same trailer that held the 16’ without significantly increasing the overall length.

Dave: That is a wonderful looking boat both in the water and on the trailer. You have done good my friend and congratulations on the long and tedious build of hull #1. You should be very proud as any new owner of one of these vessels. Look forward to seeing you soon as I am coming back to life after the building of the Habitat House which has had me nailed down (no pun intended) for the last 6 weeks. What a great couple of pics to see. :thup :thup :thup :teeth :smiled :thup :thup

Pat – I am glad to see you back in the land of boats and water. Thank you for the complements about the boat. I have been meaning to give you a call these last couple of weeks, just not getting the time. I will make the time next week. Nothing important, just want to chit chat with an old friend.

Dave,

That is a beautiful looking boat but I couldn't help but think - you need a new truck with which to tow it. Something black with red pin-striping. Does the wife know you need a new truck that's painted to match the boat?

Roger - She has not seen the boat. She very seldom gets off the farm or even wants to leave it. The boat in Navy Blue with a Navy Blue E-Tec. It just looks black in that one photo. I normally don’t buy new trucks unless there is something wrong with my current one. So far the Nissan is doing OK. I will just have to make the next boat Gray with a Honda engine so it will match the truck .
