A-frickey-dickey-men! It seems like it has been raining non-stop here on the Upper Left Coast for months...a nice day here and there (last Saturday was a gem), but overall pouring rain day after day...we are sitting in the fifth wheel just for the heck of it listening to the rain pounding on the roof. STOP, DAMN IT, STOP RAINING!!!!

She needs a wax job but it will not stop raining long enough.

Yes, this is really getting depressing. Its supposed be a little nicer this weekend, if so we might get out in the river and try for a sturgeon.

Friday will be nice irregardless, we are going to Kent to get a peak at the interior of the new boat!!!!!

Pat and Patti nice looking 5th wheel my brother in law has a very similar one he pulls it with a chevy but it could be a twin he love 's it . He say's there's never enough time . We looked at a couple of RV 's but Loree won we got a Toyota Sequoia instead of a truck so if we get one it will be a small trailer . I'm hoping this SUV pulls our cc23 well enough to use as a Boaterhome . I'm trying to talk the Admiral into doing a lot more Gathering's ( Erie canal , Chesepeake, NC etc.)Take care see you in Seattle next year . Jim and Loree

Thanks again for that netting you gave us

Yup, oh dark thirty here and waiting for my son to get ready to go to the marina... Two weekends ago we worked in 90 degree temps sanding the bottom and putting on the first coats of epoxy primer and darned near had heat stroke.. THe following weekend we had rain and cold, rain and cold, but we managed to finish the 5th coat of paint... Today we want to powerwash and polish before launch and of course Mother Nature is busily drowning the frogs this morning - arrrghhh....

Man, I wish we could get a good rain here - I've gotta tie a board across Snacks butt to keep her from falling into the cracks in the ground here .

We did get one yesterday - about 1/2" from a line that moved thru in about 10 minutes - moving at 50 MPH !

Yawn. June Glooms here in the San Diego area. We're all anxiously awaiting the early arrival of flocks of full breasted Zonies. Every July they migrate to our beaches and remain for the summer. A truly beautiful sight.

Thursday

Friday
Low clouds in the morning then areas of low clouds. Highs 63 to 68. Winds southwest 15 mph.

Saturday
Low clouds in the morning then partly cloudy. Highs 64 to 69.

Don,

Lower the temps about 15 degrees, add a bit more rain, multiply the forecasted # of days by 4 and you'd be in Seattle. Fortunately, the upcoming weekend is looking good around here.

Yeah, sitting here in Fall City it is pretty difficult to muster much sympathy for my Uncle Don in Sandy Eggo...

A man talks to a kid on the street in Seattle, "Hey kid, I'm here visiting from California for a week and it's been raining every single day. When is the rain going to stop?" The kids says, "I don't know, I'm only six."

Why do you think it's called "Fall" city and has a darn great drainage "ditch" through the middle of it

Much less rain out here on the Islands (or even in sunny Sequim)

Except for this morning of course

OK, I am going to try and make a little lemonade here.
One of the things that we have had along with the rain, is light winds, at least here in the South Sound. This is unusual, and it makes for some "nice" boating conditions. I have gone out a number of days in the rain, and enjoyed the calm and quiet. It is nice having C-Run in a boathouse, so that I can start out dry and have the "fireplace" warming the cabin. This is a picture of Cutts Island near Kopachuck State Park where I anchored up and enjoyed an afternoon bird watching and reading a good book.

Today is another of these rainy, calm days. At the moment, not a breath of wind. Maybe I will go out and finish the book.

Would I rather boat in the sunshine? Am I getting tired of the rain? Would I rather sit in the boat and drink a cold :beer , or drink a hot :tea?
Not even close. But, when handed lemons, blah blah blah............

Imagine how I feel. I ain't from these-here parts. Man is not meant to live like this. It's flat out depressing. Period. I come home from work and instead of enjoying my deck, or doing stuff on the boat...I feel like all I want to do is take a nap. :(

There was a report on the news this week on how this is even gonna affect certain produce prices come summer. Strawberries, lettuce, cabbage...seems the ground is too wet to plant and farmers in the Skagit Valley are concerned about their income this yr. The report showed a farmer in his field; wearing waders and sunk in mud up past his knees. He said no way he could get his equipment/tractor etc into that field. ENOUGH ALREADY! I get it. It rains here. :thdown Jeez.....

"Honey...where's the lemon juicer?"

It's better than the weather where we just moved from...at 1pm local time today at our old house in Wetumpka, Alabama:

93.6 °F
Partly Cloudy
Humidity: 55%
Dew Point: 75 °F
Wind: 1.0 mph from the WNW

Wind Gust: 2.0 mph
Pressure: 30.15 in (Falling)
Heat Index: 105 °F

...and it isn't even hot there yet. I'll take drizzle any day.

I kind of enjoy being in the C-Dory in the rain and cold. Sometimes it is nice to drop the hook in, crank up the heater, and read a good book when the weather is nasty. Boating comfortably in rain was one of the main appeals of the C-Dory before we bought one, and besides the loading/unloading in the rain, being on the water when it is wet out is actually quite pleasant.

Mark, you do have a point though. I just spent 8 days in Hawaii with near constant sun. It was a nice change from Seattle.

Maybe I am the only one but I moved here for the weather. After spending months on end looking at the same blue cloudless boring sky everyday and sweating in the 100plus temps all day, I had enough and left. I love that it rains a little all year. I love that two days of 80 degrees is referred to as a heat wave. I love the change of the seasons with out having to shovel snow more then one day a year. I love that the water never takes on a solid form. and i really love how the sunny days are so clear and the light so warm because it rained the day before.

Sacramento -3 months of solid rain, 4 month of boring heat and cloudless skies, and 5 month of cold and a never ending fog or haze.

Seattle- ask me in the morning because it's always different and wonderful.

yeah I choose to live here.

Beautiful, Tom! :thup :thup My sentiments, too...

I love it here, too. I even like (visiting) S.E. Alaska. In a two-week period in Petersburg one year (the last week of August, first week of September) it rained 20 inches. 12 inches the first week and 8 inches the second. And it was steady. It never rained more than 2 inches in a day. It also NEVER stopped. I mean NEVER. These were not "cloud bursts," or "deluges." The sun never came out. The rain never stopped. It was amazing. I admit, that would have tested my love of this kind of weather, except that the cohos were running . . .
