The Cruising Adventures of Wild Blue and crew...

Jim and Joan,

Your pictures are always good. The picture of the red Square rigger was very nice. I also loved the picture of Izzy in the truck.

We have a new cat from the SPCA. A little Main Coon is in her blood. We have had her for about 6 weeks and she is starting to train us pretty well. Her name is Bonnie.

Jim,

Hi, and thanks for the (nice) weather report. Glad all are home safe and warm. WE have had a couple of beautiful days here. Lots of sunny, bright and crisp. Haven't even had a frost here in Sequim, yet. Mid 20's over on the east side of the water were forecast for last night. Sorry about the AC. Hey, if it worked I'd fax you some of our 50ish today. Just have to get to that retired point some time. Got to keep working to get all the little ducks in line first.

Have a beautiful day,

Harvey

Jim, Congrats on the new guitars. Look VERY nice. Don't let that get you too far away from Wild Blue now.

Ah, Harvey, it is possible to play guitar while on the boat! :D Since getting home, we have been working on projects with the house and boat. The one guitar was something I have wanted for a while, the other was a deal too good to pass on. I started playing guitar when I was 11 years old; started getting paid for it when I was 13. It may have the start of my desire to travel.

Wild Blue isn't being ignored. I would have gone out on the boat this morning, but the wind is gusting above 30 mph. It's been windy the past couple days. I also haven't had time to get the motorcycle out or go for a walk on the beach (two other things I enjoy). We plan to get the RV out in a week or so, and no doubt that will need some sprucin' up, too.

After 6 months of living on the boat, we are enjoying the options.

Best wishes,
Jim

Wheeuu Jim.. always good to be diversified. I used to play when I was in high school. Always enjoyed it. Played until my kids were middle school age then lost interest, motivation and traction. Still have the old, steel strings loosed a bit for storage, and someday I'll get back to it when I have time for more than one other thing beside work. And yes, I know it will fit on the boat. It's going with me to Alaska.

And, in totally unrelated news, a friend sent me this photo...

Nice dock!

Best wishes,

Jim, Great dock. And the turkey baster I have been using for about 3 years is still working, so that comes to about $1.oo per year. Next time I'll wise up. Thanks for keeping things simple.

Thanks Jim for the virtual cruise. We had it nice and warm here, almost 50 and a ton of rain. Good day for being inside. Unless you are a duck. So if those boats aren't using VHF, are they using CB or just no radio at all?

No radios on most of the flat bottom fishing boats around here... they got cell phones. Those that do have VHFs use 'em like CBs, though. (You got your ears on?)

Glad you enjoyed the cruise, Harvey - just tryin' to spread a little sunshine. :hot

Best wishes,
Jim

Hi Jim,

I considered that Lunchbox amp, but went with a different battery operated one that also has an input for a microphone...

JimPlaying1e.jpg

That's it with the red stripe on it - light weight and puts out good sound. Unless I'm playing for a group (like at the Friday Harbor C-Brat gathering), just the acoustic (no amp) is fine on the boat... don't want to bother the neighbors.

Best wishes,
Jim B.
