Hi Warren,

Our goal is to give a good guest experience. There is SO much here to see, a 90 minute cruise can be something different each time. If there is something unique (like a bear swimming, an eagle fishing, a fire, etc, etc) we like to not only point it out, but give some interpretation. Our first mates and captains get information about geology, history, fire policy, wildlife, fish, park services, weather, folklore, etc. Different questions come up on each tour. If a guest comes up with a question we can't answer, we have them fill out their name on a post card and we send them an answer. Some folks are along for a boat ride, some for a meal on Elk Island, some want to see the mountains from a perspective they can't get on land, some want to do a Ranger program (we have a Ranger inboard one trip each day).

On days when I'm not lead captain, I do maintenance, work on the docks, do rescues, etc... With a month to go, it hasn't gotten old, although we are both looking forward to some time on OUR boat when we're done here.

Yesterday was my last breakfast cruise for the season. While I really enjoy sunrise, I'll be looking forward to a few less hours in my workday. Here was the view in the marina while we prepped the cruiseboats...

The last dinner cruise is Wednesday night, then just scenic cruises until September 19th. Then we put the marina to bed and we'll be heading home to get Wild Blue back in the water.

No C-Dory content, but thought you might enjoy the images in this beautiful place.

We always do Jim. I know you and the Blonde will be glad to get back to your own boat. BTW, what size Ranger Tug are you going to trade up to? :twisted: :mrgreen:

Hi Charlie,

Yes, those Ranger Tugs are nice. No immediate plan to trade off Wild Blue. I would consider a bigger boat if/when we would be done trailering... but, I still have "itchy feet." Wild Blue fits our needs well. But, did I mention that those Ranger Tugs are nice? :wink:

Nice photos Jim (as always). You know Marc has a new Ranger 29 over a Wefings. Maybe you should fly down there just to "see what the deal is". That logic worked fine for Pat and Patty on their 25. :wink:

Hi Roger,

I haven't seen my buddy Marc in a while, but I plan to go out and enjoy Wild Blue when we get back to Texas. This has been the longest we've gone without spending time on our boat since we bought her... I am missing my C-Dory!

We vowed today to spend a lot of time on Willie's Tug chugging around the ICW and ship channel when we return to Port Isabel. We miss our boat also.

I'm in a marina, Florida-boy... I'd have to walk all the way down the docks and past the marina shop to get to the trees; I have band-aids handy in the shop. A real man knows when to use a band-aid.

There's nothing sissy about a Rocky & Bullwinkle band-aid. Now, if it had been a Strawberry Shortcake band-aid, you'd have something to talk about.

Yes, Seasons are changing, (Isn't that the name of a song? --You would know :lol: We have had lowering freezing levels too, and already have had new snow in the Olympics down to 8k. Days are getting shorter, and even though we didn't need the campfire for the heat, by 9PM it had provided all the light we had for the last hour or so.

Well, we wrapped up the season today... as far as the marina being open. I did get the opportunity to meet Harper and Pat (Placid-C) who rode on our 3:30 cruise today... the last one of the season. It was my turn as lead captain, but I was up to my armpits on changing oil and filters on the other cruise boat. But when they came back from their cruise, I met them at the dock.

It was a good season... I sure can't complain about the helm time (LOTS), even though it wasn't C-Dory time. In about 4 days, we'll take a meandering route home (have to visit the Moms) and then get on our own boat for some coastal cruising. During the next 4 days, we will pull out boats, winterize motors, and put the marina to bed for the winter.

Four months in one place... cue the music: "On the road again... I just can't wait to get on the road again... :note :note "

On the sunset cruise last night, my last cruise of the season, while taking in the beautiful scenery, I said to the first mate, "I am really going to miss this."

Thanks for the pics and chat time Jim. Kinda fun going to different parts of our free beautiful country and seeing the different landscapes all with their individual beauties. Have some times wondered when they were the prettiest..... the first time I see them, or, on a return trip on another day. As your current areas beautiful thoughts are behind you ....all ya have to do and think back and look forward to some of the other places now soon again in front of you. Life is too short to spend it all on land or the roads....but for sure, much of it sure beckons another look see with friends.
