The Brat Map

Way cool...Even though I entered my zip on my profile I don't show up on the map. Could it be cause my boat size (18) isn't listed on the profile choices?

Got you taken care of, Norm.

The Brat Map won't display a push-pin unless a zip code is selected, and a C-Dory model is selected in your profile. Trouble is...you're the first one here with an 18' Angler, so there was nothing there for you to pick.

I just added the 18' Angler to the model selection. Since it's a rare beastie, you don't get your own color on the map - you get lumped in with the "Other" category, which includes the 27's, Pro Anglers, and other models of which C-Dory only built a handful. You share the gray markers with this exclusive group of owners...

I updated your profile to include your C-Dory model, and you're now on the map.

:D way kewl! Thank you much....Don't mind a bit being grouped with the "others". My dream is to someday find a 26 or 27 that I can afford. So I can just stay in the other category.

I would like to make a request for The Brat Map, and that is to add another pin to show all members. Once you click on a particular model, the only way to see all members in an area again, is to click on the Brat Map icon in the menu and zoom back in.

Thank you if you would consider this request.

I had the same problem until I discovered that all you have to do is click the Brat Map link at the top of the page. The same link that got you there in the first place.

Bill, maybe you can help.....With a Mac computer, try to get google maps, get a window that says.....Google Maps API is not compatible with this browser. What can I do?

Google maps (the underlying technology behind the Brat Map) requires a relatively modern browser, regardless of whether one is using Windows, Mac OS, or Linux/UNIX. From the Google Maps documentation:

Google Maps is not compatible with all web browsers. Google Maps currently supports recent versions of Firefox/Mozilla, IE 5.5+, and Safari 1.2+, and sort of supports Opera.

I'm not up to date with Macs, but we have a few members who are - perhaps they can chime in. I think the above browsers are only available on Mac OS X or higher; if you're on an older Mac/earlier version, sorry to say, but you're probably out of luck.

I've tested it on OS 10.3 and OS 10.4 with Firefox, Safari and IE 5.1. All work fine on my mac.

Roger on the SeaDNA.

I'm running a Mac with OS10.3.9 and the C-Brat map works great on IE, FireFox, Safari and Camino.

I expect the only way to run the map on a Mac would be to uprade to OSX.
OS9 won't cut it.

Confirmation! My new Mac G5 with OS 10.4.3 works with C-Brat Map, FireFox, Safari, etc, but my old Mac with OS 9 gives me the "is not compatible....." message. Joe.

:smiled The Brat map is fantastic idea. We trailer our C-Dory 22 and are now in Florida and it's great to see where other Brats are.
Keep Up The Great Work On A Great Web Site

I can't see a way to remove Pelican from the map. Now that she belongs to Mike and Brenda Byrd and has a new name, she needs to disappear from Paducah.
Thanks,

You can access your profile, and clear out your boat info and/or zip code.

Removing either of these will remove you from the map.

Quick Question:

I plan to have my trailer converted from bunks to rollers - I am figure I will install four "banks" each with eight rollers. I bought the 22 with a trailer used. The dealer who "brokered" the boat told me the factory insisted on a bunk system.

Spoke with a manufactures rep at the AC boat show and he told me that C-Dory ships their new boats on rollers.

Any issues with rollers besides the proper set up I need to know about?

Thanks

Ken

A question to Da Nag

What did you do to the Brat Map this week? I couldn't run it at home (dial-up via Juno, IE-6), getting an "undefined label, etc. Tonight, bingo, worked great. Please let me know, cause I'm really curious.
