THANKS

Too often we take for granted the good work that others do on our behalf -- and it is all too easy for them to hear the criticisms that always accompany any public good works.

We want to make sure, Mike and Bill, that you know that you have our complete support and appreciation for all the hours and hard work you put into this amazing website. We have met hundreds of good friends and shared some amazing experiences and fine advice from these friends -- and it's all your fault! Yes, the C-Dory is a great boat but this website, thanks to you, is a marvelous pub filled with friends.

A BIG THANKS to you guys (whom we also consider good friends) -- please don't ever forget that there are hundreds of us (Can we say 1,500?) who enjoy and appreciate the work you do for us -- we can't say it often or loudly enough! THANKS

As always, elegantly said, El and Bill. We are so grateful to have this great place to meet others, share ideas, and expand our knowledge base. Thank you so much, Mike and Bill.

Best wishes,
Jim Bathurst

Couldn't agree more! (And I don't even have a boat yet . . . !)

Seriously, how do we put a price on the value of this site?

Where else could I join one day, PM a local owner the same night, and be out on a 22C before noon the next day?

Where else could I attend a dinner with 15-20 other owners, within 10 miles of home? (Columbia River CD 'yacht club' organized by B~C last month).

Where else could I attend a 'regional get-together' (courtesy local B&B), including group dinner, potluck, and assurances of several rides on various CD models? (Cathlamet; next weekend).

I've learned a -huge- amount about ground tackle, battery hookup pros and cons, canvas installation, heaters, the practicalities of beaching the CD (a wonder in itself, considering its potential live-aboard capability), towing (a wonder in itself, considering its potential live-aboard capability). The list goes on.

And like I said, I don't even have a boat yet!

Thanks to Mike and Bill; thanks to other helpers/moderators; thanks to all the helpful members of the CD community!

Ahhhh....let's all have a big, group hug. Just make sure and keep an eye on Brock's hands, ladies...

I've stated it before, but man...I get far too many ego strokes around here to ever give up the place. I'm pretty shallow that way. TyBoo's the deep one.

The moderators are a class act! They have taken the high road and speak for what the vast majority of us believe.

Thanks for all that you do!

This here Mod mod thanks you -- it's my job to pass the hat when Bill finishes his sermon.

Such a fun group - and love the way we're all able to roll with the punches. It takes a good hit sometimes to really understand what we're all about.

Tight lines, sleep soundly, check the anchor!

What they said and us too!! This site and the people represented on it were a huge factor in our decision to buy a C-Dory. You guys deserve a round of beer, I'm sure somebody would be willing to buy :D .

There's more work to keeping this amazing site running than meets the eye and we thank you for your good work.

Bill and El, and gang, I agree. A collective, well deserved rub of appreciation under Tyboo's chin and a scratch atop Super Nerd's head ought to keep our domesticated catalysts purring for a spell.

Hopefully longer. Every time I log on I'm amazed at the work you two do to make this such a successful, meaningful place.

67 days to go......until we are finally pulling "The Foggy Dew" and it is all your fault!!!!! :D :D :D 8) 8) 8)

Yes Thanks Bill and Mike & Mods,

This site and the people that participate here and at the gatherings are very important to us too.

I admit to having a wandering eye at the boat show (for the boats) occasionally. This year I was enamored with the Albin 40 North Sea Cutter. I even got Shelley back a couple of times to look at it. Salesman thought "fish on" and did a great job of explaining that if it was put into charter use, with tax advantages, charter income, blah blah blah that the boat would really cost us virtually nothing for our own use. Shelley's listening to this and said, "so what about the down payment"? I said we'd have to sell the C-Dory. She looked at me like I was nuts and said "I'm not selling my C-Dory. Besides, it comes with a built in social group, who are you going to boat with on this thing".

It took two years to even get this woman to look at a C-Dory, she wasn't enamored with the boating lifestyle. Now it's 'her' C-Dory. I know that a lot of that change in attitude is due to the people that frequent this site and the gatherings. We've had a great time on the boat and with the C-Brats. Thanks to all of you, and I look forward to seeing some of you at Lopez.

I have a reply inside for this topic, but I have to get the words right. I really am getting rich because of this group, in ways far better than that which has been suggested.
