Thanks to Everyone!

I first got on the site about three months ago and have come back ever since. After first running a C Dory over ten years ago, I knew that eventually we would buy one and we take delivery in May.

I just wanted to thank everyone here for your advice, encouragement, wishes of welcome. Both Marcia and I appreciate all of your help.

From the experiences of El and Bill, expertise of Les Lampman, patience of Jess Messmer ( who noted that he frequently visits the site), information of Dave at King Marine Canvas and numerous private messages and emails of well wishers and fellow C Dory owners, you have all made this experience a great one.

Oops! A big thanks to the nerds from all of us!

One final thing: Marcia insists that I am obsessed with C Dorys and this site, but honestly, I can stop anytime I like! Really!

Looking forward to meeting many of you at the gathering in June.

Marcia might be right, Nick. That's why Blue~Sea Ken has fashioned a little something he calls his Six-Step Program. I believe he professes to C-Addicts about the relation between C-Dorys and the brain's synopsis for half the curriculum, then I think they dance the other half.

aw, you're hooked, there's no cure, the next thing you know you'll be sitting at the helm in the driveway bouncing around and making motor sounds......I have heard of, what may just be an urban legend, a spouse that had an intervention. She hired a guy to kidnap the offending C-Nut and lock him in a room full of Bayliner and aluminum boat owners untill he changed his ways. As I understand it, the guy was last seen roaming the desert half out of his mind, poor guy just couldn't stand the sight of any body of boatable water

Hi all,

I know exactly what you mean. After a year of "thinking about it", it never being exactly the "right time", my wife and I threw caution to the wind and bought a CD-22 at the Seattle Boat Show on the very first day, the very first hour. Scott Reynolds, Jeff Messmer and Scott Matthews were very convincing, and professional I might add.

Talk about being hooked. I've never even taken the helm of a CD and I'm addicted to all there is to know about them, to my wife's surprise. I'm especially hook on this site. I've found great information and can't wait to start putting this knowledge into the boat. It should be delivered the beginning of March, so wish me luck. I'm a total boating neophyte but am extremely excited!

well, now you're infected with the bug. Sounds like you'll be recieving that baby just in time to break the engines in before the Jarell Cove cruise....congratulations

I too purchased my new and very first C-Dory at the Seattle Boat Show. A few days later I discovered this site full of informative, sincere, personable folks. Ahhhh, such a happy family. And here I am, for the second time today, reviewing posts, questions and absorbing more and more. OK, maybe it's the third time today, fourth? I forget...

I was in denial, wasnt going to admit the addiction to anyone. Then last week I started driving to the factory in Auburn twice a week. Just to lean on my boat, stare it it, talk to the riggers installing my electronics... it didnt matter....that was my very own C-Dory taking shape.

Tuesday or Wednesday will be delivery day. I wonder if that gives me an excuse to visit this site even more?

Now I realize why so many of you bring beer to the gatherings. Even more ironic, is the level of formal education and professional experience we all have.

Perhaps owning a C-Dory is the fountain of youth... at the very least, they should come with a warning label for this addiction.

Looking forward to meeting you all at the gatherings.

Hey there Rabbits hutch, and any other new or prospective CD owners
Congratulations on your purchase.
I have a coulpe questions for you and thats it
How did you find this site?????did you see our picture collage and get the info from it???? or was it from the link from the Factory Page?????
Currious minds want to know...lol....

Roger:

I'm not sure if it was from the factory site or if I just ran a search on Google. Whatever it was, I'm sure glad I found it.

Now the only problem Marcia and I have is the long wait until May!

Hey Roger:

My second day at the boat show (of 5) I saw the display of photos and heard of the C-Brats. Wish I had known early, I would have attended the event...

Just curious Nick-

Through what dealer did you buy your boat?

I looked up location of Norton, OH... using the boat on Lk Erie? I am up in northern MI and drive down to your neck of the woods to visit family. Don't own a C-D yet, but have been following the used market for a couple of years now. May buy this spring, if the right boat is found.

John:

We bought our boat from Cutter Marine in Baltimore and it will be used on Lake Erie, off SC fishing and cruising in the Keys. Other places, too, such as the Erie Canal, MN, etc.

There are two Nortons in Ohio; we're just outside of Akron. Our boat should be in Ohio the first week of June, so let me know when you're in the area. You're welcome to try it out with us.

Stay in touch,

Nick
