TEXAS GUN BOATS
After the shooting at Lake Falcon by members of the Mexican drug cartel, Texas will no longer rely on the Federal Govt to protect is citizens. Six of these boats have been put into service along the border by the Texas Dept. of Public Safety.

Seems all the border states have to resort to this. What happened to:
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Why not just get a few guided missle cruisers down there. I wonder can we still hit Tehran from the Mexico Texas border? I'd love to see a U Tube video of Dr.Mahmoud Ahmadinejad yelling Incoming!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Any ideas what the hull is made from so it could take fire and not sink?

Fascinating to find out other details such as length, width, speed etc., no need to ask about economy.

Kevlar? I'd imagine too that the idea is to be faster w/ more fire-power than anything they'd encounter.

Fixed it for you.

Texas better be prepared to defend itself from lawsuits from the current administration, as Arizona is being forced to do, for defending her own citizens from foreign agression.

They are fast! (Certainly have the element of surprise). I've had Homeland Security Vessels very much like them go blowing past me in the San Juans. Didn't know they were present until the last moment. I've met them coming towards me from the front and coming past me from off the stern. Often times they have a Customs and Border Patrol Officer on board as well.

Don't even think about the cost......just know it's exorbitant when you figure in the specialized electronics, the firepower etc. on top of the cost of the vessel and engines.

Mark, maybe you should consider a transfer in employment, then you too could be at the helm of one of those..... :thup . (Maybe I'll come out of retirement and explore a new career).... .

Dave, I was just telling a couple of guys at work I should write up a "proposal" for the dept to buy one! Of course, I'd be in charge of the boat...we can dream, can't we.

Ha, I wrote up some proposals also....Have You Seen Any New Fire/Rescue Boats on Lake Stevens yet?

(I'm thinking there are some folks that are glad I retired.... )

Actually, I honestly believe we have been most prudent in our purchases. :thup
