Hi All,
Well Larry and I are off to take our Dragonfly out on her first Adventure. We will be gone until Sunday. This way we can maybe work out any kinks before coming to meet everyone at the Gathering next weekend. Cross fingers and toes that all goes well.. . Just wanted to share our exciting news.. Thanks !

Larry & Tracy – make sure you have your camera with you. Take lots of pictures and get an album here.

You will never ever have another first (maiden voyage), so enjoy and good luck.

Hi,
We are back from our first outting on the boat. It was so much fun I can't begin to tell you. I know.. you already know how much fun it is ! We left a day early to come home because "Barry" decided to come see Oriental this weekend. LOL We didn't want to be loading in the rain so we just drop off the Dragonfly for a short check up and to add a few little things. We practiced everything from "saving fenders " that's Man over board in case you didn't know.. (we saved all the fenders) none were harmed while practicing. Then we practiced (well Larry did better ) docking. Without adding any new holes the the boat ! Yippee we were very happy about that . We took photos that we will share later.. Take care all.. Tracy Larry

Congrats on your first successful outing, and best wishes for many more to come. :thup Don't you just love it when a plan comes together!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

PS - When practicing Man-Overboard drills, no fair using a gaff hook. 8)

If not the hook what do we use when practing the man over board drill ? I'd like to be prepared for as much as possible . We had the best time and are really looking forward to coming up this week. We just won't have all the personal touchs we'd like to have on it. LOL Just not enough time in a day to get it all done. LOL I hope to "steal " some good ideas from everyone while meeting and greeting.

Each circumstance (and person) requires a different technique and use of equipment. This is what we find works for MOB equipment:

Spouse: Lifesling (floatation device and line to pull them back)
Inconsiderate person: speargun (no floatation, but easy to pull them back in)
Pain-in-the-ass Inlaw: anchor (no explanation necessary)

:wink HTH

Glad everything went well and nothing like putting her in the water for the first time ride. It is an adventure we look forward to reclaiming every summer.

See you at the gathering next weekend.
