I am interested in installing a swim step on our 2006 22' cruiser. I'd like to stick to fiberglass with rungs that stow beneath it. If the factory sells them it would be great since the color would match better than a plain white step.
We don't have a kicker yet, but there's a pivoting kicker bracket on the port side. I'd prefer to have the step there and put the kicker on the other side so we don't have to step on the cables when climbing into the boat. I may end up taking the boat to a fiberglass shop to redo the transom cap in glass (no cracking plastic cap), and cover unused holes, i.e. removed kicker bracket.
So does the step attach to the transom with 5200 and hardware? And is the hardware through bolted, or is it screws that only penetrate the core? (I'd do some epoxying of course).
I'm heading to the boat show today after work so maybe I'll get a chance to talk to Triton folks, or Master Marine.
