Suzuki DF200

I need a little help. My oil light is flashing, but the oil level is good and engine is running fine. I am not having any luck finding out what the code is for the flashing light. FAQ on Suzuki site says one code is for oil changes (every 100 hours) but I am at 150 hours. I'm to cheap to spend $161 for the service manual if I can get the info from my fellow Bats

Dave, I have a service manual for a 150/175 and I bet they are the same. Let me know what the light sequence is and I'll tell you what it means.

For example, 1-2. Is shift position sensor, 4-3. Is fuel injector, etc.

I'll be home all day. Call my cell phone if you like. Eight oh four 580 oh oh one zero.

This is probably the oil change reminder system. With the key on, but engine off, pull out the lanyard three times and then turn the key off. That should reset the system.

Oh, yeah- be sure to change your oil as recomended if you haven't already done so.

Matt, does the oil change reminder come on at 100, 200, etc. or 100 hours after you last reset it? That was my first thought too it's possible that the oil was changed at 50 hours and this is just 100 hours later... Only he knows..

Just read the book  . Apparently, with a new engine, that reminder comes on at 20 hours, then in another 80 hours (100 hours of engine run time) and then every 100 hours after that. It doesnt care when you really change it. :disgust

If that is correct, if it were the oil change reminder, it would have been driving him crazy for 50 hours :cry .

If its blinking a code and not 5 blinks, it's not the reminder light.

We just serviced an engine that has had the rminder light blinking for 200 hours of use. I would have thought the owner would have been concerned at some point- maybe not.

Read owners manual . Its just a service reminder if its flashing . If its on steady ,then panic . Change oil and filter and lower unit oil and turn on key and cycle safety lanyard switch [at the end of the red coily thing] as stated in manual [I believe 3 times in 5 seconds ]. That will reset the engine computer for next 100 hour interval .

Marc, does the 100 hour cycle start when you reset it, or does it follow the preset schedule? See my post above..

C-Brats,
Thanks for all of the great advice.
The key was to cycle the safety lanyard 3 times in 5 seconds. It worked like a charm. Thanks and safe boating

The oil was changed @ 10 hours ago, before she went in this spring.
Apparently the reminder was not reset!
Now I know!!
Thanks everyone.
