Taken at 4:30 Dec 28 looking SW from Guemes Is. across the Guemes Channel with a cheap digital camera. No filters, just as it was.

It should be illegal or at least considered in poor taste to take sunset shots at 4:30 in the afternoon. On a more pleasant note, just remember it will start to get light again in only 15 hours.

Nice image, David! Enjoy those "sun breaks" when you get 'em. The sunsets here in the desert (in our traveling digs) are pretty, but lack that oh-so-important component of WATER.

Happy New Year!

1630?!?!?! I was lamenting our 1715 sunsets here in Virginia. That is why Dec 21st is the happiest day of the winter...because the days just get longer from here on out. I miss going out on the boat after work during these cold, dark days of winter. That is a spectacular sunset though. The cool dry air and icy clouds make for some pretty colors.

David, Nice shot. We are on the east side of the time zone and sunset is even earlier here, and colder. About 14F this morning. Little dump of white stuff yesterday. I get my water fix at the library watching the almost frozen creek out of the window.

Yep...nothing like going to work in the dark....and coming home in the dark...all in the same day.

Heck, I have been in the dark even in the summer months. Felt like a mushroom sometimes.
