Sunbrella cover mold or mildew stains

I finally put the sunbrella cover on our 2000 CD22 that we bought in January. I washed it with woolite and a soft brush and looking at the outside the cover it looks pretty good. in the cockpit area on the underneath side it appears to have mold or mildew stains; sort of a dark greenish color to black. It is primarily on the underneath side but does show faintly on the outer surface. I washed both sides of the fabric with the woolite mixture and it didn't do any good.

The top really needs some 303 treatment because it just soaks up water now. Before treating it with 303, do any of you have any recommendations of how to remove the stains? It may not be possible at this stage, but thought I would ask.

Thanks,

Terry

I've used Star Bright stain and mildew remover with pretty good success. I spray it on with the camper back up, let it set a couple of minutes, scrub lightly with a soft brush and then wipe off with a water soaked towel. I do small areas (panels) at a time.
It says it is not for use on fabric (it's probably mostly bleach) but it doesn't take any color out of my dark green Sunbrella. Don't wear good clothes when you're doing it!

You can use bleach to remove some of the stain:
http://www.sunbrella.com/en/pdf/cleaning-sunbrella-marine-tops-covers.pdf This is the official way to do it. I would use these directions, let the Sunbrella dry and then spray it with the 303 protectorant for fabric.

Unfortunately, apparently the quality of Sunbrella has gond downhill in the last few years. There are better fabrics from Austria currently. (Stattler is the name of the company) As I have been told Sunbrella is now (or at least some of the fabrics) are made in China instead of the USA as they were. This may have something to do with the quality.

A cover which is only months old, should not have these problems!

I had RV slide toppers just made with the Austrian fabric and Tenara (UV resistant Goretex thread) and it was twice the cost of having them locally made about 2 years ago.
