Suggested Reading List - Lake Powell

Wandering Sagebrush

Does anyone have any good recommendations for books to bring to Lake Powell for those moments when all is calm.

I have Desert Solitaire and The Monkey Wrench Gang by Abbey to put me in an anarchist frame of mind, plus something called The Geology of the Great Basin by Bill R (who ever he is;-). If I could find my copy of John Graves' Goodbye To A River (About the Brazos in Texas), I would bring that, too.

What's on your list?

I'm doing the same thing- getting a reading list for a month plus on the Canadian border with no T.V., and back to the sauna and outhouse.
Two favorites that are classics to me- Canoeing with the Cree by Eric Sevareid and Open Horizons by Sigurd F. Olson. Good luck!
In Cahoots will be at Lake Powell next fall- This fall a cetain John Deere has my attention on the wheat fields.
