Brother Byrd--
I feel like I have some understanding of what's really important to you in your life. Boating is one and---FOOTBALL is another. I couldn't help but bring to your attention the demise of the Crimson Tide last night (in case you missed it) Yeah !!!!UTAH Let's see, what was the score?! I believe it was 31 to 17.

Dixie -
You mean the red tide along the coast disappeared last night? Have you been seeing the bioluminescence associated with the tide?

Hmmmm - as you can tell, I'm not the football fan you and Byrdman are ...

As a Utah Alumni and BCS anti-fan, I was overjoyed.

Alabama escaped with a single play (return for TD) from a complete drubbing; instead, just an overwhelming, superior performance by the Utes on both sides of the ball.

Three times now, the country has been able to see real college football vs. the big money, bloated NFL breeding programs of the BCS. (not that I have a strong opinion)

I think it was William Michner that wrote something along the lines of:

Football is like politics. It takes someone smart enough to play the game, and vain enough to think it matters.

Now fishing and boats... Those are things that really matter.

Missed watching it. Too many bowl games. My favorite bowl game was a year ago when Boise State humbled the mighty Sooners. The know it all announcer kept saying in the beginning, "Can the little dogs run with the big dogs?" The Jack Russells vs. the Great Danes. After watching SC
dismantle Penn State. the Florida-Oklahoma game has the edge taken off.
Now Utah and SC would be a good match-up.

I haven't paid much attention to the College games--- since Washington State is out of it---- and I mean OUT OF IT :!: :amgry
Dang--- what happened to the Coug's?

As far as the NFL-- Raiders (5-11) did better than the Seahawks (4-12) :amgry --- now that really sucks.
I don't care who wins the SB-- just hope it's a good game.

College basketball will be interesting this year. Oregon State should have a big advantage what with the Secret Service taking out any opposing player who moves too fast.

I would give you 14 points and any team in the nation against USC. And if USC was serious about playing (they let up on Penn State, probably out of respect for Joe Pa) I would give you 17. I would bet that USC could beat Detroit and probably the Seahawks. Too bad we'll never find out. Maybe Obama will fix that to.

For a thread that was designed to get a rise out of Patrick, it's amazing that he has commented and about a dozen others have. Pat - still depressed or just not willing to take the bait?
